I can even understand how love of a franchise could cause you to want it to die out. Sonic comes to mind because it was so loved in the 90's and with every new release we have fans of the series shaking their collective heads in dismay at the latest sleight against the franchise.

But to wish for a great series on any system (that is still going strong) to die just because you don't like it.........hand in your gamer card because you're not.
