I played the demo, and like I said its "THE BEST LOOKING GAME I HAVE EVER PUT ON MY PS3", no joke. Heavenly sword looks good, but ratchet looks amazing. Also I would like to say SMG looks good but not nearly as good as ratchet. Like I stated before the computer kills the graphcis. PLay it on a ps3 and you will cut yourself.

I've played the demo, and Heavenly Sword last night on a 50" HDTV @ 1125i for some reason. However, I would have to say that Heavenly Sword has the slight edge, although they are both amazing, they did take my breath away, they look even better than Motorstorm. After having played through all of Heavenly Sword on an old 32" fat widescreen TV (I think it is a CRT tv) it's just incredible seeing these on an HDTV.

I will be buying this game, because it looks sensational, and more importantly, it's fun too play. It's going to be good time for PS3 owners coming up. A great single-player game in Heavenly Sword, a great-multiplayer game in Warhawk. Pro Evo coming up, Eye of Judgement, then Ratchet, some great multi-platform games in November, before Haze and Uncharted. Then videos on demand, play TV, DualShock 3, MGS 4, FFXIII, GTA IV, KZ2, TS4 next year

It's not announced for PS3, though.

 Yes, but after Free Radical has made an engine for the PS3, and considering the relationship that they have with Sony, it is very unlikely that TS4 will be exclusive for 360. I think that Free Radical have not decided what platforms it will be on, as otherwise they would have announced what platform it's coming for

Around the Network

Why does graphics have to be mentioned for the technical reasons only - such as the screen resolution texture resolutions and polycount? It's all nothing when it comes to art direction, style, class or call it whatever you want.

While the games which want to mimic the real world sure can benefit with the above mentioned technical aspects, the games such as mario and R&C benefit mostly from their art direction.

As one of the good examples of art direction (IMO) and bypassing of technical limitations i would like to mention Neverhood. That game had class :)

.

I have to say my PS3 is spoiling me a bit....when the first game you get for a new system looks like RFOM, you get some pretty high expectations. Playing FEAR right now, and I was actually struck by how smooth and nice everything was, not to mention the awesome lighting, but also kind of bland compared to RFOM, despite being WAY better looking than any shooter I'd played before RFOM.

Also, I would chalk up some of R&C's graphical prowess to Insomniac's having  developed RFOM....but I don't have any explanation as to why Resistance looks so good.

there is no question that technically R&C has better graphics than SMG, if you think other wise you are just a wii fanboy, art style though is just as important but is subjective so shouldn't be taken into account when comparing which two games have better graphics.

@darth

Kinda short IMO, but w/e

@W29

I'm not trolling. Besides, no Sony fans/fanboys'll have a problem w/ my statement except Hus and blue3 (if they were here).
 Most games are these days. This isn't last generation where games where super long (i.e. Final Fantasy XII, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, hell even Halo 2 was longer than Halo 3) But games these days take the same amount of time to develop and are shorter (sucks huh?) It's just the way stuff is this generation.
