Forums - Gaming Discussion - Apparently the wii is done in twelve months tops

This is exactly like a bloody fist fight you see between a bouncer and a drunk.

The drunk gets the almighty christ kicked out of him, but instead of walking away and coming to his senses why he lost (size in build, not being sober, bouncer actually knows self defense) He stands out front of the club still trash talking to the bouncer his going to kick his ass despite everyone knows the bouncer already won because he didnt get his face caved in.

This is exactly how the video game journalism is acting.

""YEAH YOU AINT SO HOT NINTENDO! SONY AND MICROSOFT WERE HERE THEY WOOP YOU! I SWEAR NEXT YEAR!""

Then when anyone will try to point out there completly wrong and still an idiot.

""Nah that? That was luck. No way Nintendo had a plan or anything, they just got lucky.""

I am amused to say the least, though this isn't the first time there's been a GT podcast filled with Nintendo hate, nor will it be the last. Hell the only thing I haven't come out of them is 360 hate. But either way fanboyism in gaming media is kinda getting old, even complaining about it is old, any site that allows such people to represent them and cannot even come up with a halfway intelligent argument as to why they hate _____ console is not professional.

People wonder why gaming as a whole isn't taken as a serious medium look no further then the "professional" sites and magazines it's worse then trying to read political arguments and the thing is it goes no where. If people as a whole finally saw how stupid and counter productive all of this is they'd just stop going to these sites. The issue is these people are catering to and apart of their followers which will be hard to separate them the only way to really do it is hope they destroy themselves and everything they enjoy and/or some other entity destroys the things they enjoy like graphics + high production costs = dead companies, but do these consumers or sites care no they want more eye orgasms.

The Media in general is bias, not just gaming. Have you seen Fox News? and itsquite popular too.

Yeah in general, but at least most other forums of media have their respected outlets, general news has The New York Post and USA Today.  There's respectible movies and music critics as well and generally they're pretty big.  The issue with the game industry the respectible guys like our staff we're small when compared to IGN, gamespot, and gametrailers.  There's numerous other small outlets with good writers but when peoples favorite game does not get a 9 it's a flame war started by immature gamers and the sad part is many sites cave and start to alinate the people that went to the site for the good writing and have everything directed towards the general crowd of gamers that sit on the internet all day. Which in general aren't the masses, just the majority that will go off on you for little to no reason.

To me, it's a fairly new medium compared to other media outlet, it's full of young and very opinonated people which i kind of like. This people actually say what they think unlike the CBS, FOX, NBC which report depending on the corporation that owns them. Yes, they were harsh on the Wii, but thats just one week, they usually destroy the PS3. But I like it, because they are real and they speak their minds. I also enjoy the 1up folks for the same reason.

I am bombarded everyday with scripted and hesitent media, i like those who speak their minds even when i don't agree with them.

I like how you got it, hit right in the target.

BTW I'm not sure that "speak one's mind" equals lack of professionalism. I'd prefer if they actually know what they're talking about. It seems to me that they either unable to speak intelligently or catering to juvenile demographic of their gaming site. Either way this makes me sad for the future of gaming medium.

Except, if I were attacked by someone on the job, he wouldn't be free to trashtalk me afterwards, he'd be in cuffs waiting to be picked up by the cops...

I'm very for speaking your mind, just typically it's not done in an intelligent way, why go to a gaming media site if you get the same discussion on a forum with a 12 year old and why should these people get paid to do what they do?  And yes it's a younger medium, the media for gaming was a lot nicer back in the day though.  I actually remember reading magazines where everything didn't seem like a penis measuring contest.

Generally how media changes through time, they start out very noble and try to cater to everyone, but when that becomes too hard they disolve that to trying to cause uproars, the more customers you get from causing a fuss the better, and thats the form of media most gaming press has turned into (generally) it's so bad that it's got some publishers and developers with their heads up their asses.

I think the NEWS media is far worse, it's so bad, The Daily show makes more sense than them. I seriously think they went too far on the Wii, but's a podcast, nothing really serious. Gametrailers has some terrific reviews and videos ad Still think we havesome terric resources and sites for gaming, look at this one.

the gaming media is so unprofessional, it's no wonder people don't take it seriously.

It's really sickening how much hate the Wii is getting for being successful, but now it's getting to the point where the tears of the hardcore are oh so yummy.
