Let's do some math here.

Small PC developer + 360 being so similar to the PC + PS3 being some fucked up peice of hardware = no PS3 games from the small PC developer.

Makes sense.

Are you kidding me? This has to be the most ridiculous analysis I've read in a long time. You actually believe that garbage?

I don't agree with him calling the PS3 a fucked up piece of hardware, but he's correct on the rest. There are tons of examples of 360/PC titles by small developers that aren't coming to PS3. I'm fairly sure the differences in architecture is the reason.

I feel like deja vu

Anyone who buys Valve games for a platform other than PC is doing it wrong. Look at TF2, the x360 version receives updates that are months overdue, if at all. Look at L4D, x360 owners will have to pay $7 for a 30 minute campaign, generally gets updates late, and they don't have access to the many great user made campaigns and maps. I don't know why you guys are clamouring for ps3 versions of valve games, as they would be assuredly worse than the x360 versions which are nothing to brag about.

In closing, making games for the X360 makes sense for Valve. Making games for the PS3 does not. Please understand this ps3 only owners.

This is pretty big in my books. I mean if someone said HL3 is a ps3 console exclusive, id buy a ps3 the day it comes out.

I don't think PS3 only owners know what they are missing out on here...and its probably better that way.

As far as Valve, no one here should blame them for this. Did they ever make PS2 games? I don't think so... they make PC games and since Xbox1 and 360 are dumbed down PCs, Valve can work with them in parallel.
Its like someone telling you "in order to work as a crane operator at our company you have to learn French...". Valve just doesn't want to jump through hoops like that as they have been very successful and don't need to do this. They are not a bloated studio like some of these multiplat developers...

Like soldpumar pointed out.. the economic sense(bad for consumers, good for valve) doesnt allow valve to work on the ps3. Especially since porting PC/360 is like baking a betty crocker mix. Shame though, multiplat would mean happier gamers everywhere.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

All PS3 owners own high end gaming PCs. I thought this was common knowledge by now.

Why would I want to play a Valve game on anything other than a PC?

Yeah that's a good question. I still laught at the proud x360 owners who are so happy they can play they dumbed down, low visual quality, bad controls version of proper Valve pc games :D

Do you also laugh at PS3 owners who play multiplat FPSs for playing the "bad controls version"?

UT3 have mouse and keyboard support . ;).

UT3 was a shitty game on the PC, let's face it.

It was good on PS3. What was wrong with the PC version? At no point did I feel the need to be using a keyboard and mouse, oddly enough. Same with CoD4. I can't imagine playing Left 4 Dead with a controller, though.

ah yes. So yeah...that makes perfect sense then. No need for pesky ps3 ports...

It sounded to me like he didn't want to make garbage on the PS3. So instead they decided not to make PS3 games because they couldn't make the gaming experience equal for each system (PS3,360,PC) do to resoures.

I'm sure if they had a team who could make games work on par with the 360 and PC they would.

Funny thing about people mocking the PS3 controller. #1 if it ain't broke, don't fix it (for the general design) and #2 I'm sure you're talking about the analog stick. What's wrong with the analog sticks being placed perfectly where your thumbs will lie when you pick up the controller? Why does the 360 have a better controller because you actually have to move a finger from where it sits normall in order to make the controller function? Unless you're talking about the triggers? In that case....the L2 and R2 buttons do make the multiplat versions of FPS games the "bad controls" version
