I don't know if you remember well, but the first shipment, before the launch was 1 million of units. Two weeks past launch and the game still hasn't sold it yet. For a game of the caliber of MH3 (that carried the hope of expand the hardcore audience of the Wii), it's a bomb.

Just hopes that it goes better in the Overseas.

BTW, what was the Capcom expectations?

Its not really two weeks, its nine days. Week 'three' will only be 16 days which is closer to two weeks. Through 'week three' it will be around 80% through its shipment by Famitsu, which I'd wager is on the low side of expectations.

I don't think that the game will get to 2 mil WW anymore. I think that it should sell at least 1,5M in Japan, and it don't looks like it will.

It might be possible to get 2 million WW, since Capcom said they want to push it in the west.

1.5M is reasonable I was thinking it would be 1.3million myself in Japan.

Monster Hunter 3 dropped more than I would have hoped. Still it is now the best selling home console Monster Hunter, as well as the top third party title on current gen home consoles in Japan, passing Metal Gear Solid 4. Hopefully the upcoming holiday will give it a better hold and allow it to inch over the million mark. That said any talk of it being able to retain best selling third party title after Final Fantasy XIII comes out should be gone.

For the rest of the chart, it looks like a very solid week in Japan, with all of the top 10 selling more than 30k. I'm sure there have been weeks where 30k would have been good for almost the top spot.

Maybe, or maybe they just sell better on PSP. Will be interesting to compare if (or when) PSP gets a new mothership game.
