Thinking about sex is a sin? Its impossible not to think about it, then its impossible to resists sinning? Thinking about a video game is not a bad thing, you cant sin for playing video games.

Video games dont have nothing to do with sining, since its fantasy and its not real, you releave your anger and stress.

acting on anger is a sin usually (not always though, for exampleJesus acted on anger when the temple was being used for comercialism)

Actually, if life the battle is in the mind, what you spend your time thinking about is what you often end up doing.

The outward sin is a manifestation of that which was being played out in the mind.

thats why it is better to do/think good than worry about being bad, that way you become a good person instead of a paranoid person. But first you need to make sure you are being. Stupid balance...

Thinking about sex is not a sin. Thinking in my mind "some da I want to marry a nice Chrisitan girl and have sex and kids" isn't sin. I am not sure if picturing sex as a picture in your mind between 2 people you don't know is sin. I know lusting for someone you know is sin though. Also you can ask God for forgivness, but its not a good idea to purposely do the same thing over and over, and ask fogiveness over and over. You are supposed to try to change, but it can be very hard (mastrubation)

Andrewpeirce, I'm agnostic but one things I've learned about religion is that if you aren't sure, don't do it. It's that simple.

Like Leo's masturbation question. If you aren't sure it's allowed or not, don't do it. That way you're always on the safe side of things.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Slightly off-topic, but related to the mini-convo about masturbation:

I just want to say that the ancient Biblical law as brought over to the US by the Puritans was that ANY orgasm a male has (females don't have 'em right?) that doesn't make a baby is a sin. This means no condoms, no masturbation, no BJs, HJs, RJs, ZJs, nothing. The logic was that G-d gave us sex to make babies. If we use sex for pleasure, we are using it incorrectly, and thus insulting G-d's will. If you had an orgasm in your sleep, and there were 2 or more witnesses, they could sentence you to death for "having sex with the devil."

It all depends on where your conscience lies, and how you let videogames influence you.

You can play GTA, but if it drives you to become a more aggressive, violent person, you should of course stop. That's just common sense though.

What's more important is just videogames in general and how much of a priority you place them at in your life. Spending time playing or thinking about videogames and such instead of working for a greater cause is not good. As long as you've got your priorities straight, I say you're fine.

I play M-rated, violent games all the time. It's all about discernment. What may be offensive to some may not be offensive to others. I suppose that could mean I'm desensitized to violence, which isn't good, but I don't see it that way. I can discern between real and videogames, and I get entertainment out of just playing the game, enjoying the story, whatever...not enjoyment for killing people or anything.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Personally, I don't like games with blood. I can play 'em, but choose not to. IDK, I just don't like 'em. I prefer games with "Fantasy Violence" like KH, FF, Zelda, etc. That's what I play. I play E-T games mostly.

Me too, but I really liked Doom (the orginal)and sort of want to try violent games. But may be I shouldn't. I dunno. I have already made the decison to never get drunk with alchol (therfore I am never gong to drink) I don't really want to feel limited in video games too, but I don't want to disobey God either...

Also I will play M games with friends already, but that is more at parties and things and because everyone is and I'm a gamer and no way I am going to say M games are against my religious belief and get mocked, but I am not sure if playing them all the time at home will cause evil thoughts... or what.
