You do realize that "guided first person" is just another way of calling it rails shooter, right?

Hmm... I don't recall Bioshock being a rail shooter, yet it guided me all over the place.  There was an arrow that constantly pointed the direction to go.

But you followed the arrow like a moth to light anyway, right?

Ah, the illusion of freedom in 99% of games...

Looks good but I still think they should have made it a TPS adventure, it had so much potential and they kinda wasted it by making it a "first person guided experience"

I hope you are just being facetious. You really don't see a difference between Bioshock what this game looks to be?

From the sounds of this, it is not only a rail shooter.  It has explorable areas as well as guided game play.  Look, do you guys think I'm mentally challenged?  My gosh, the freaking guy says it is not a rail shooter, it is something different.  Who are you to say it is a rail shooter have you played it?  The guy developing it says otherwise.

Obviously from the way he worded in that's not what he meant. He meant "it's more than just an average zoom through the levels rail shooter, ours will have cool extras" (which will probably not be that cool) in order to (a) generate a buzz and (b) counteract the probably-expected on EA's part backlash to the game being an on-rails shooter.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

I see the difference.  But when I play shooters I'm basically doing a speedrun anyway, so it might as well be on-rails.
