I don't understand how some people think GT, R&C, God of War …etc, would come to Xbox 360, considering all these titles belong to Sony, so even if Polyphony Digital departs from Sony, they won't be able to release Gran Turismo on Xbox 360 without Sony's permission, just like how Sony won't be able to get a Halo game, even if they acquired Bungie.

I was under the impression polyphone owned the rights and that sony was just the publisher, most of the time heck almost all of the time the publisher has no control over what the series does game to game, and the publisher can change if there is a better offer. FF7 is not owned by sony despite them publishing it.    but i could be wrong in this case i did not turn up anything in a quick search on the subject

edit, but outside of that my point stands it would be funny i did say i did not expect that to happen

Sony own the rights to PD since they own them as well as the GT IP. GT on 360 would be a GIGATON because MS would literally own Sony......

FF7 remake exclusive to the 360 would easily over shadow anything Sony would happen but it looks like we are not being very realistic here. GeOW 3 PS3 exclusive is going to cause meltdowns all over the internet.

What do you know of the story? how do you know? and MS is announcing new studios and 1st party IPs probably

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think people don't realise that the announcement won't be considered big if it's stealing another exclusive from Sony, mainly because no one really cares anymore as almost every big third-party games are available on both platforms, so I doubt it would shock anyone to see MGS4/5 or FFvXIII on Xbox 360, because PS3 also got some of the big Xbox 360 third-party exclusives like Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia, Bioshock, Lost Planet...etc.

What I think will be surprising is to see Microsoft securing an exclusivity of an expected multiplatform title, like seeing MS announce the next big Valve title for Xbox 360, or securing Modern Warfare 2 exclusivity (timed or extra DLCs), or the next Level-5 project, or the next Bethesda Softworks title...etc.

Anyone really would be shocked to see Versus XIII on Xbox 360 after seeing XIII heading over to Xbox 360? Or seeing MGS4 port after a year and a half? I really don't think these would do anything more than fueling fanboys, but I guess Microsoft really cares about fueling fanboys... So anything can happen actually. -_-

But this is MS we're talking about.  You know, the guys that thought announcing RE5 for 360 at E307 would be a megaton, despite the fact that it had been announced for the 360 two years earlier?

For all we know, they'll think MGS4 on 360 will be big news.

(And I fully expect the next version of MGS4 to be announced for both platformers.)

Haha, nice interview, never read that one before, great laugh!

Anyway, I also fully expect the next version of MGS4 to be announced for both platforms, but I just can't see it being considered as a big announcement from the media outlets, and I don't even expect to see Final Fantasy Versus XIII being showcased at E3 at all...

What I think MS will announce is a slimmer, more family-friendly Xbox 360 with probably a lower price tag, along with new services like last years' Netflix announcement for Live, and new titles from their already known first-party developers and maybe a new exclusive title from Bizarre Creations, and Episode 3 of Half Life 2 and stuff like that. However, making Xbox Live free is a big announcement, but it's hard to see that happening now.

Aside from Modern Warfare 2 being exclusive to Xbox 360 announcement, which is unlikely, I can't think of any MEGATONs, real ones, not one that is considered to be one from MS and MS only.

I think Microsoft would be looking at unannounced titles like LA NOIRE, maybe Red Dead, and perhaps ninja theory's next game. I'm sure they'll have lost planet and Mass Effect remain timed exclusive, maybe dead rising 2 as well. I think Bioshock 2 is not out of the question, but very unlikely. Maybe they bought Bethesda/Epic's next project?  Doom 4 maybe?

If they took MW2 exclusive they would piss A LOT of people off, I dont think activision/IW would do that, it's not going to happen. I think Activision has plans to keep milking the franchise every year for money, and leaving out a PS3 version for a year would only hurt the franchise they're trying to milk for the years to come.

Odd's are Microsoft doesn't have anything shocking we weren't expecting at e3, unless it's a slim 360. We'll probably see KI, Forza 3, alan wake, as well as more lost planet 2/mass effect 2. It's in no way obvious Microsoft stole a PS3 exclusive.

It appears to me that it might be Mars. It was supposed to be a PS3 and PC game and now it's going to the 360.

I really doubt it. If Microsoft wastes valuable E3 time touting some game which has a < €3 million budget, which is due for 2010, and which only had any hype to begin with because it was originally thought to be a PS3 semi-exclusive, I will toss my 360 in the garbage because they will have truly lost the plot.

badge, are you disappointed at MS so far this year?

I noticed you´ve kinda warmed up more to the PS3 this year.

I'll have to wait until after E3 to say. If I only had a 360, I'd be deliriously happy with the amount of games coming out for it this year. But since I have a PS3 as well, it kind of annoys me that they're not doing more to differentiate their console's line-up.

But yeah, I do think Sony has finally gotten its act together. Aside from their stupid PR, they're looking absolutely golden.

Getting stronger 1st party would make sense, with 3rd party MS can use its huge cash to shop around, but to do it effectively, good projects, and appealing to XB360 audience too, must first exist. And MS built its biggest gaming success since Flight Simulator, Halo, in a studio it controlled and owned too for years, and it still owns Halo rights, total control allowed the best synergies possible between HW and SW.
It would be a good thing for users too, MS using its money to do things that sell well because they are good, not because money was used to crush competition. I'm not a Halo fan (I like most of it, but I don't like its controls, I don't like gamepads for shooters in general), but I admit it's very good, and it's a good example of what good MS can do if it wants. OTOH, MSDOS crushing DRDOS, Windows crushing OS/2 (and also all not x86 based systems of those times except the mac) already when mainstream Windows versions still were utter shit, Office crushing WordPerfect and Smartsuite, IE crushing Netscape and so on, are all good examples of MS doing the worst products and still winning, against people's interest.
