Mario 64. One of my first games. Good times.
Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2: No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?

does it have to be a crash or mario game?
I can't really choose one... but it sure has the name Mario in it. It could well be Super Mario Bros 3 (Nes) or Super Mario world (Snes) and even Mario Galaxy (wii)
Hard to choose

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
Switch - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (2019)
Switch - Bastion (2011/2018)
3DS - Star Fox 64 3D (2011)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Wii U - Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (2010/2017)
Mobile - The Simpson's Tapped Out and Yugioh Duel Links
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)
2D - Easily goes to Super Mario Bros. 3 (Or Super Mario All-Stars if the compilation counts)
3D - Hard choice but in the end I have to choose Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 64 created a new genre and is still one of the best playing 3D games ever made. Galaxy is a masterpiece but Mario 64 is not too far behind.
It's pretty easy to pick out the people on the forum that started thier gaming with a Playstation and never played through any of the Mario games.
Little Big Planet is fun, creating levels is a great thing, but the core game itself comes nowhere near the excellence of Super Mario Bros. 3 or even Super Mario World. Crash 3 was also a great game, one I played the heck out of, but again doesn't hold a candle to Super Mario 64. I would put Crash 3 behind Mario Sunshine.
