in the first week in NA

I predict 700.000 launch and 1.000.000 1st week. I wouldn't be surprised if it would be higher because people are looking forward for the next real Mario game for ages! Also Mario will be the biggest title amongst all titles to welcome the end of the games drought.
If a mediocre game and spinoff like Dragon Quest Swords can pull off 300.000 first week to an install base of 3 million. Expect Galaxy to crush those numbers and boost hardware if possible. If it's true Nintendo has been stockpiling millions of Wii's... November 1 would be the perfect time to flood the market with Wii's. And if that happens, my estimates are way too low.

I'm going with The Source on this one. The new fan base Nintendo has picked up with the DS and Wii don't all rush out to buy a game on day one. Heck, first day sales for many Nintendo titles are low and then are huge by the end of the weekend.
I'm going to guess about 400k current Wii owners plus another 100K new Wii owners will help Galaxy debut at around 500K. But the game will sell well over the holiday period and total well over 1M by the end of November and will be between 1.5-2M by the end of the year. (A lot will depend on system supplies.)
Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

I predict around 770,000 units will be sold in the first week. Wasn't there a rumor about this game already obtaining high preorder amounts of 700,000 units in Japan alone? It is on wikipedia.com also. The US had around 400,000 units of preorders also.
So, if the sales is below all the predictions above, I will win with a guess of... 1.

Well see, there you go... I can guess 2... and now you can't win.
I heard the 700k was a retailer preorder...in other words based on expected demand stores in Japan ordered 700,000 copies of the game. Where did the 400k USA figure come from?
