its different with the ps3 because so many of the owners are different. with 360 its highest selling place is america and thats where its most popular and thats why alot of 360 owners love shooters. ps3 on the other hand is so varied that you wonts see many games selling huge amounts. same thing happened with the ps2 even when its install base was 100 million!! anyway i would wait till something more official before going around saying killzone 2 didnt sell well.

way to talk out of your ass mate. where did you pull "half" from? no one really knows how many people bought it for blu ray. if you wanna go around saying half of ps3 owners just use blu ray then half of the 360's in the world are just sitting in store rooms with RROD!

Uh? Killzone 2 released:

A) Around a recession period
B) Gaming market is already filled with shooters
C) It was just released, so give it time
D) The original Killzone was mediocre which result in some people leaving the series alone
E) Word of mouth will get this game moving, especially this holiday season with it being more than likely in the "Greatest Hits" section.

Not by a whole lot, but yes. VGC has PS3 at 4.96, 360 at 4.40, and Wii at 4.95.

It was just an observation that the PS3 install base havent snapped it up as much as a Nintendo Hype Title. (Mario Kart, Metroid) or MSofts (Gears, Halo 3)

The diversity of the platform is a valid reason I hadn't thought of, as is the use of many PS3's as a media player.

Gears 2 sold well because it had a fanbase of over 5M, plus both titles released during the holiday season and in Gears 1's case it was the first BIG game for the 360.

Halo 3 sold well because it had a fanbase of over 7M, plus it released during the holidays and the first game was the first BIG game for the XBox.

Killzone sold 1M in the first 2 weeks despite being a sequel to a mediocre game that had a fanbase of 2M, plus it released in February, not the holidays like the games it constantly gets compared to, the original wasn't the first BIG PS2 title, it released late in the PS2 life cycle so it didn't get the same kind of sales bump that Halo and Gears had.
