You probably should have added "Japan" to the title, since that's the difference between incredible news and not really news at all.

That's very good. It might make Capcom's predicted 500k on PS3 alone after all.

To be fair: PS2 was a port of the GC game that released half a year earlier. Still an amazing feat, though.

You make this numbers only look better =p.

What's more incredible is that Resident Evil 5 has beaten launch day sales of Resident Evil 4. The game sold 117,000 copies for the Gamecube in January 2005 and 145,000 copies for the PlayStation 2 in December 2005. Resident Evil 5 has surpassed that combined number.
