I love WoW my first encounter 3 days ago resulted in 3 days with 9+ hours playing

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Two people from work seems addicted to this game, it's the only thing they talk about all day and one of them I'm sure play this game atleast 5-6 hours a day.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I just don't think it's fair to say that when there are no chemical dependancies involved. I played a helluva lot of WoW, but quitting was easy and painless.

Of course, I had methodone (Wii).

I'm going cold turkey at the moment.

i dont think people are as obsessed as halo 3 than wow, not even close.

wow actually has depth, while halo is playing online and doing the same thing over and over (not saying its bad, saying its very different.)

people actually waste their life over their wow, while many people play halo 3 much more casually

And Halo 3 has an identifiable hero, Master Chief that's distinct from the player, so it can generate more easily fans than addicts, as WoW and other online RPG do, because in them you can generate your ideal character and make it your alter-ego. It must be said that any good RPG with a persistent world presents this risk, there are more cases involving WoW because it's currently the most successful and it has a user base very larger than previous games. When UO was the most successful MMORPG, it was involved in the majority of online gaming addiction cases.

u dont use a drugg, thatis true

but there are still molecule in urbrain that are released and act when u are playing WoW

Of course, I can't prove it, but I really really think there are some molecular pattern involved in any addiction phenomenon including video games.

Time to Work !

WoW was alright but I never had that "addicted" feeling. Even at lvl 60 (before lvls were upgraded) i didn't feel the need to play all night. I guess I'm immune to cocaine :D!
