And Halo 3 has an identifiable hero, Master Chief that's distinct from the player, so it can generate more easily fans than addicts, as WoW and other online RPG do, because in them you can generate your ideal character and make it your alter-ego. It must be said that any good RPG with a persistent world presents this risk, there are more cases involving WoW because it's currently the most successful and it has a user base very larger than previous games. When UO was the most successful MMORPG, it was involved in the majority of online gaming addiction cases.
