Forums - Sales - Will wii sales up in Japan when Capcom relased the Monster Hunter G

G, not 3. We're talking about a rerelease of a PSP game with online you have to pay for. It does have a nice classic controller that comes with it though.

Actually, we're talking about a re-release of a re-release (Was actually a PS2 game, so I suppose they're using that one instead of the PSP one.

Anyway, it will be nice to see sales.  If it does good, it will be all "Zomg, MH3 is going to sell really good cause this one did", and if it does bad, it will be all "Well, it's a port/re-release, I didn't expect much".  I myself can't wait to see the sales.  I want to see if the PSP versions did have an impact on the popularity of the game.

Well, it does come with the MH3 demo and it IS Monster Hunter, so I do expect sales to increase, but Wii needs a stream of titles to improve its base-level sales.

Maybe when MH3 releases in September it can do that for the rest of the year, especially if Tales of Ten gets released as well.

^Also if Wii Sports Restort releases soon.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

probably yeah

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I doubt Monster Hunter G is going to move a lot of consoles. The Wii will surely see an increase in sales during its launch week but it won't be groundbreaking as the game is just a re-re-release.

And the effect Monster Hunter 3 will have on the Wii depends on whether Capcom's new Monster Hunter game for the PSP is gonna be Monster Hunter Freedom 3rd or not. If it indeed is Monster Hunter Freedom 3rd I wouldn't expect the Wii version to move a ton of consoles.

Oh and I doubt Wii Sports Resort is going to change the situation for the Wii in Japan. There is a huge gaming drought on the Wii currently. Wii Sports Resort may stop hardware sales from declining but so far I personally can't even see the Wii selling 2.5 million units this year, which is quite sad as the console was destined to appeal to the japanese market.

It can move a few consoles, with people that are planning to get a system for MH III buying it early and playing MH G. When is MH G released?

MH3 demo on MH3?  Oh damn, it is going to do good.

Capcom announced MH3 coming in September?

Also, in case anyone missed it, Capcom did announce that Monster Hunter on the PSP would continue :)

Wii sales are high even with the relatively few AAA/AA titles. An actual decent game being released is bound to stir some more sales. Of course, by the looks of things, It'd be hard to find a Japanese person that doesn't own a Wii >_

probably a lil bit that week and then go down again

It will be a little, like most people in the thread already said. But when it comes to tri, I think that will be a bigger boost.
