I agree.  Funny thing is i'm pretty sure Matsuno does too.  FFT was once desribed by him as "dumbed down" for a wider audience when it came to the story.

Which FFT was still pretty complicated politics wise.

But then again it doesn't give you as many philosophical questions as TO does and doesn't force you to deal with as serious issues.

The bad guys and what is right and wrong is more black and white.

 

The only complaints i really here about TO are

1. It's too hard.

2.  Vice.

To which I say two things

1. It's too hard.  It is very challenging at times.

If you feel it's too hard train.  Hell you don't even have to do it yourself you can set up two teams set it on auto and go do something else while you level up.

2. Vice his choice being based on the main characters choice sounds off until you realize his motivation is to put himself to where he can't be abused, and he feels that will be impossible if always shadowed by the main character.

Tough choice? Nope, the SNES wins hands down. Also the SNES > PS2 as well.

well , i would like a JRPG on any system and the reason i bought a 360 is to play the JRPGs on it , tho i hate Microsoft (Personal reason , im not a fanboy)

You've both gotten me wanting to play Tactics Ogre. I haven't played any from the series before, which should I start at? Does it matter? Or is the story sequential?

You've both gotten me wanting to play Tactics Ogre. I haven't played any from the series before, which should I start at? Does it matter? Or is the story sequential?

Playing Tactics Ogre is going to be almost impossible. Used copies go for about eighty dollars, minimum, with new ones going for about 400 as a floor. It was released in very limited quantities in the Playstation release in the US. The SNES version never saw a stateside release, to the best of my knowledge.

Hell, I've never played it.

Well, PS1 do have lots of RPGs but some of my most beloved games of all time (Terranigma, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI and Tales of Phantasia) are all SNES games.
So for me SNES is the nr 1 RPG console, nr 2 being PS1.

SNES for these alone: Earthbound, Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger
all with no load times...

i have pretty much all those games for both systems and i enjoyed playing them on both systems but i must say i do find my self going back and playing the snes games once in a while so i guess i have to say the snes for me(although the ps1 games are great too)
