Sorry to say this, but I currently think no home console is in a good position in Japan. The sales aren't that great, even with boosts here and there usually caused by big game releases.

I agree with Rei, a price cut in at least Japan would hit Sony the least as it is the smallest region however would do wonders for sales. GT5, FFXIII and Versus is all PS3 has after RE5 in Japan so a price cut is all that can be done to maintain sales.

I think some of you are overreacting...

How is the Yakuza game going to sell 600k plus in Japan when the last one hasn't even broken 300k? Only 2 ps3 games have broken 600k in Japan and one of those was MGS. Don't see any other games joining that club just yet.

The PS3 is only doing double the 360 in Japan.

Four points:

a:Japan is a zone wii..

b:Japan decline as market of games worldwide.

c:japan It is a battle lost for ps3 and 360..

d:Japan is different...

Everything else they are fanatical deliriums, I like to have the feet in the land..

Yes, but it isn't falling as hard as the Wii.

The PS3 is closer to the Wii than it is to the 360. The Wii is sinking fast, faster than the other two consoles.

Wii is sinking faster yet it has a lead of nearly 5m over Ps3, a lead that will never be even threatened, let alone approached.
