Forums - Sony - Ohh Yeah Killzone 2 Demo Is Up!!!

Right, I can't be bothered to read through all of these posts, so I'll just say this.

What the fuck is with the voice acting!? I was crinching during the opening scene, like somebody was poking needles into my ear canals! "Lesson 1: How to ruin an otherwise greatly crafted atmosphere", I mean, how the hell did GG think these would be good voices?!
I may be exaggerating a bit, because you might get used to them through the course of the game, but it seemed like none of the characters had good voices. These voices are fucking horrible!

Now, apart from that, the demo was great! Loved the shooting, loved the whole thing basically (apart from the voice acting ). The only thing missing IMO, is that if you are in cover, and you press R3, you should get up and aim, and then press R3 again to go back into cover, because letting go of cover to aim with iron sights is not very clever...

One of my issues as well, though if you hold to cover press up and hold with the left stick you'll pop up while still clung to cover but able to shoot, then you can use zoom which if you don't like toggle zoom will mean you're holding 3 buttons at once then pressing and holding fire, you can also press right or left the the left stick to aim from the right or left side of the item you're hiding behind but the same press and hold remains.

P.S. I agree with the voice acting but I was kind of expecting it after the first game and figuring they hadn't changed voice actors for the main characters, though I was hoping badly.

*cries*

I thought I'd go and shoot some unnamed friendlies after the gunfight on the beach with the APC's (I was waiting for that dude to give his speech)....

Never thought they'd actually die...

After I had killed two (okay, I was really bored).... They killed me :( Way to go team, I thought I was part of the team :(

I agree with Maxwell, you should try to get used to the cover system.  You need to engage cover by holding the button, and then lean/peak with the left analog stick.  This is where the COD4 controls will be an issue of the extra button to hold zoom.  You may want to try the standard controls with toggle zoom.  In the long run, you may be more successful.  I agree 100% with the voice acting.  Also, they drop the f-bomb with too much regularity.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Played it and it wasn't bad. It ended right at about the point I was getting the hang of things and didn't really leave me with a wanting to play more at the moment.

I didn't wholly get the cover system at first and once I got it it wasn't bad. It could be because I wasn't use to it yet but I'm not a huge fan of it. It was odd to get into and wasn't always sure when I was stuck in cover.

Also, I hate the turning. The delay is stupid. And then running while reloading is horrible. I hate how it tilts the camera, it actually made me a little nauseous.

That all said, the game looked incredible. I'm glad to see the delivered on their promise to make the game look good. Can't say much more about that, the game looked incredible.

Also, the grenades are pretty cool. I never really thought about how every other game just instantly throws them but this one actually throws them and lets you hold them (and potentially hold them too long).

Of COURSE it took you awhile to get the hang of the cover system.  It took a three page thread for you to figure out how to check your download progress from the PSN!

Call of Duty and a few other shooters allows you to hold onto gernades as well, the thing I'd say I really like on KZ2 is the gernades though, you can clearly see the yellow line coming at you which makes the whole gernade fishing cheapness obsolete.

To be fair many of the responses were about my supposed hate for anything PS3, what my next bitch thread would be about, and Food Network.

I don't like FPS on consoles, own Resistance (came with my PS3) and got bored some way through (no idea how far). Halo never pipped my interest. Heck I don't even like TPS really (especially now since it's always over shoulder and you don't see the entire character)...where am I doing with this?....

Ah, right, demo. I liked it. :) Of course it's wouldn't be a week 1 purchase for me but in a sale or Platinum, I'd give it a good going over.

Hmm, pie.

You buying it, then?
