Forums - Gaming Discussion - So who's checking out Bayonetta?

All right, I admit that's fair.

what exactly do you mean by " people like yourself"? do you mean pakistanis , muslims and or people who just dont like hot , sexy and cheesy female characters? i only ask, since " people like yourself wasnt used when addressing anyone else who made a similar comment. edit: ot comment havent seen much gameplay, depends on what the full game offers as a complete product. however, if what i seen so far is anything to go by, then yes. its a shame sega didnt give a franchise like shinobi the same amount of love.

How bout I explain this to you fine folks.

I believe that I am one of the best posters on this site. I make no qualms about it. I bring very inciteful, interesting, and valid opinions in all my posts on a very consistant basis.

However, you must remember, besides being able to...hold my own...in a debate, I was also voted as the meanest poster, but it's really not because I'm mean, it's more like arrogance. Yes, I'm quite good, but I know it, and that's a flaw.

As Outlaw points out, respect is earned. It's not necessarily a two way street. I've spent a great amount of my time over the past year making this website a better place, in one way or another, and arguing over that point is invalid. It's simply not an opinion.

So, when, from time to time, people decide to get personal, I think I have the right to give them a little arrogant indignance.

In this case, Khuttra has personally attacked me, for "having bad tastes," but s/he's way off base. I don't have bad tastes, rather I'm a realist. Khuttra, on the contrary, is an ideologue.

In Khuttra's mind, assuming that groups generally tend towards negative stereotypes associated with that group is sexist, racist, or something along those lines. In my mind, if I believe those stereotypes are usually correct, I will use them to further my understanding of said culture.

To make it clear for everyone, the stereotype I've propagated here is as follows:

"Women tend to dislike the exploitation of the female form(porn, for example). Motives are questionable, as they could stem from deep instinctual female jealousy, to indignance over said exploitation of their godgiven proprietary technology, their body."

Was I blunt, and arrogant? Oh hell yes. I'm very arrogant naturally, and I tend to grow impatient with quips.

However, just because I do not follow the ideology that Khuttra genuinely believes is the "correct and generally accepted" ideology of our world, doesn't mean I have bad tastes, but rather, that I have simply put independent thought into the subject.

I believe that certainly, women tend to grow upset over other, more beautiful, and sexy women being portrayed in inappropriate manners. I don't think there are many women who would actually like that Bayonetta trailer, in general. I don't care how that makes you feel. I'm a stranger to you. I have no reason to hold back my logic in such matters so you can sleep better at night.

Not finding the trailer sexy, or not liking the style/tone/humor is one thing, but if you directly cite the most common exploitative women's argument when you criticize the game, and I wonder out loud if you are female, then that's just my God given intuition acting up. Afterall, you don't see many men protesting porn, do you? Oh, no, but that presumption is also sexist, against men, and thus I have bad tastes for stating it even though it's true.

Either way, bad taste or no, I'm still the best, and I'm fighting a very strong male urge to end this sentence with the word "sweetheart."

It looks crap, and the way she says things like "Do you want to touch me" and "bad boy" right before the camera zooms around her crotch is rather sickening.

I can only imagine whoever made that thinks it is meant to be sexy, but it fails, horribly, that is about as sexy as a run-down crack addicted granny prostitute.

let me guess. You're a woman?

Hah, I lol'd hard at this. Your posts are just crazy.

Didn't think this comment was something to get worked up about, but then, maybe cuz I'm a guy?

Who the devil are you quoting? When you put words in quotations and attribute them to another person, generally they need to be things that they have said.

You are free to think or say anything about yourself (or even me, apparently, though assumedly there is some limit on how much tripe you can spew there) that you please, but that does not excuse a tasteless and uncommonly base assumption about gender perspectives.

Though your last post really argued your sexist perspective far better than I ever could.

I don't think I've seen you be arrogant and then humble in the next sentenance.

Although, whether you are making VGC a better place is completely an opinion.

While I do think have do have a bit of respect as you do put out good posts, and we have quite a large variety of intellegence levels on the forum.

Yes, I was quite proud of it. I wasn't that liberal of my paraphrasing of your opinion, and it was more for the sake of those reading who perhaps couldn't follow the conversation.

As for excusing myself, I did no such thing. I'm simply gave you my motivations. I believe that your PC world, and general perspective on the entire subject of ideology is illogical. It seems more concerned with feelings and people than reality and truth. Blunt, oh absolutely. Offensive? Not purposefully so. However, there is no debating ideals. Both sides simply get more "dug in" in their stances. Afterall, we both have our bias' I'm sure.

Let me just ask you straight out, and perhaps we can push public opinion in my favor. Afterall, idealogues all have certain things that aren't exactly mainstream casual non-thinker beliefs, and I think I've hit on one of yours. Here is my question:

Do you, or do you not believe that women, in general, tend to dislike exploitation of the female form TO A GREATER EXTENT than men, all other factors being equal?

@zen, still waiting on my reply so we know whether racist is another quality to add to arrogance.

ot: does that mean those say bayonetta is tasteless also hate dead or alive, pretty much any other beat em up, wet, ff series, or any other game with sexy , n partially naked women and strashy female characters? d as principle goes, does that mean u also hate the male equivalent e.g. alpha males, rambo, jonny bravo etc?

Oh, come on. Do you know how redundant most of these forums would become, without me? I'm not saying I am the life of VGChartz forums, however I certainly contribute heavily to real debate, and weed out or scare off a ton of the most viscious trolls that exist here. Simply because we are often at odds doesn't mean that we should wish each other off this forum. Nothing I say should ever be taken personally. What is good without evil, my friend? Heaven without hell? Crime without justice? It's absolutly unthinkable.
