I have to say it! I really do understand what's so great about this serie. Yeah it's pleasant, and there is everything AMAZING with zelda games. It's just one of those amazing action/adventure game. I played zelda 64 a long long time game and yes, I had a good time. Then, when I had a gamecube, I bought the windwaker, and I quickly finished it. I think that zelda is loved because it's one of the nintendo "all time" serie and the only action/adventure serie on the console. If you own a nintendo system, you HAVE to love zelda/mario/metroid etc etc etc

We have to answer you why one of the most popular video game franchise of all time is good... If anything, you should tell us why you think it's overrated, not why you don't like it as we really don't care about that. If you claim that the series is overrated, you need something to back it up.

I don't even think its like that.  Zelda is one of those series you can look at and justify why we sit here every day discussing games.  Why I can justify spending time writing things about gaming.  Why many gamers have become core gamers after playing it.  You see it's not just about liking it.  Even core gamers that simply don't agree with Zelda can look at the franchise and say, " Yea that is what core gaming is about.  That is the epitome of this entertainment industry."  You don't even have to like it but it's one of those franchises that gives that off to the core gamers and ultimately the media.  I don't think there are too many other franchises that do that but Zelda does and that's why I respect it on both fronts: for being a represenative of the gaming world and being one of the greatest franchises ever created.

agreed on all counts. Zelda is one of the few franchises that has something that is incredibly blissful and yet at the same time extremley intangible. When you play Zelda you don't look at it with the critical eye that you would use on games like Killzone 2 and Gears 2. It strives its hardest to not take itself ultra serious and is sold to you as being simply a game not this "next-gen experience" or "state of the art". Zelda knows its place in the universe and is all the better for knowing so.

Funny, I own six Nintendo systems but I don't love the Zelda series. After I killed the 100th enemy by holding my sword out and waiting for the enemy to impale themself on it I realized that Link to the Past was not all it was cracked up to be.

Zelda games are those that stand up to time with many games being loved. Not because its a good game but the universe its in is amazing. Zelda games are that they are legends and also its one of the few games when they are anounce and a trailer is shown practically the entire gaming community seems to stop. There have been many theories and stories about the zelda time line its not even funny. To play one or two games of zelda really isnt enough sometimes to know the background of zelda. If you do a little bit of looking your find how all the zelda connects and the mysteries of them. Just one or two game dosnt tell the whole story. Thats whats amazing about zelda and why i love the series and probably many more people love it. Zelda games aren't just a game and a story. Its a legend and are pages in history. I could go on and on about story timeline and theory but that would probably a take up an entire thread alone.
