Forums - Gaming Discussion - Alan Wake Vs. Heavy Rain

I'm more excited about Heavy rain but I only have a ps3 so....

I'd reallly like to play both games though, they both look very interesting. Hmmm... my cousin owns a 360..... pulls out large paper and pen for coming up with a plan *Evil laughter*

Did someone really mention Lynch in a video game thread? Oy. It's Christmas. Moving on...

I'm cautiously optimistic about both. Heavy Rain looks interesting and I loved Max Payne and its kitsch.

From the perspective of a Finn who hasn't been following either game:

Alan Wake is guaranteed to be an awesome game due to Finnish competence. It also looks kinda like the first Silent Hill games, which is always <3.

Heavy Rain might be awesome and innovative, but it might also be boring and "wtf, is this supposed to be game?"ish. I'm open to the idea of it being good, but not entirely convinced yet.

Alan Wake. Can't say I'm too interested in Heavy Rain currently.

Heavy Rain interests me more because it seems they are trying to do something really different. I can see it having really diverse opinions/reviews. I suspect it's the type of game I'll respect more than I enjoy, but we shall see.

I can't wait for alan wake . Heavy rain looks like a disaster waiting to happen .

I want both.
Remedy = max payne.

Quantum = Indigo Prophecy

Sadly, I can only get alan wake though, as a ps3 is outside my means, and also I don't want to waste $399.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

     The scene in the kitchen where the woman is talking and then holding the gun reminds me of something out of a David Lynch film like Mulholland Drive.  The scenes at the beginning where the children are playing reminds me of Fritz Lang's M., and the whole thing as shown in the video looks more like a Hitchcock film than Resident Evil.  The producer also looks like Hitchcock and says he is attempting to make a Hitchcockian game.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

Both of them don't look very good. First, the expressions/lip movements in HR look like crap and the necks in AW look kinda crappy.

Both look very interesting. I don't know much about Alan Wake so I can't judge properly yet. I hope they can pull off all the idea's in Heavy Rain because these type of games can go seriously wrong quite easily.
