Only 200K in Japan? Didnt Last Remnat and Infinte Undiscovery and Tales of Vesperia sell over 150K on X360 on 1/3d the userbase of the PS3 in Japan?

I say nearly 300K Japan for WKS.

World-wide lifetime 800,000 copies (and 83% on Gamerankings).

Yeah, you're probably right. It should be able to reach 300k. Howeve that's Winning Eleven levels and I don't know if a new JRPG can reach tose levels. Dynasty Warriors "only" sold 400k and was on the PS2 much more popular than no name JRPGs.

On the other hand Valkyria sold 150k and a regular JRPG should sell much more.

750k LTD seems about right. Although the complete bomba of VC in the US has me a bit worried for the American sales for WKC.

It's not cell shaded

It's doesn't look and play like anime

It has co-op and online

It's classic jRPG instead of SRPG

And it doesn't have ay serious competition on the platform.

If america and others won't buy at least as much as Japan I'll be seriously suprised.

I was talking about Japan. But I'm really curious as to what WKC will do in the West. PS3 is relatively strongest in Europe where the RPG genre is weakest. And seeing the PS3's top sellers in the West makes me think the PS3 userbase is very shooter/sports minded.

Ok, for Japan numbers, the question is: will it do half as good as MGS4? MGS is pretty big in Japan (mind you not as big as in europe/US) but it is still one of the biggest titles. It has sold 66k so far in japan, with 480 first week. I do not think this will do close to that, even tales never did anything like that. Thats why I think 150k is resonable. And, the install base is not much larger now than it was with mgs4, less than 500k more units.

First day 115k in Japan,first week 169k and a LTD WW 550k.

Europe and others don't really buy jrpgs other then FF. In NA, it depends on if it's released next to a shooter then it will just get ignored like VC.

Its a nich title. Development on HD consoles is high. Wii can do cell shading well, look at the ps2 and DQ. And, wii already had an srpg that sold over 500k, almost 600 in fact with no others numbers (400 in US),  in Fire Emblem. This title would need lots of advertising to sell enogh copies to make the money back on an HD console, on wii fewer copies equals a profit (advertising would still be needed, but with less development costs you could afford more advertising. Lastly, userbase is much higher in japan and US with wii. Tales spinoff has already sold 300k+, this amount would be good for something like VC.
