if PS3 sold 40k in Japan... damn! if it's true, then i think we're looking at 4m... and 360 relegated to 3rd for the month...

It's definitely doable, esepcially after seeing the jp numbers at what they are. I think that the US will still be right at or just a hair above 40k, and others should be in the neighborhood of 30k or more. (Keep in mind that it's very difficult to track retailer sales from the "others" and even though it may not be counted here on vgchartz, they should hit that number. )

Even though it increased in sales World wide to near 110k in the week, it didnt hit 4million by just a hair 
but I expect it to be about 4.08-4.11m next week which is good news for the sony playstation three.
Close but not enough. 5459 units short.

Seriously though, the Japanese numbers this week were fantastic for PS3 and definitely a lot higher than I expected.
Just a side note, but with the way the numbers in the database are always being refined and reevaluated it is entirely possible that down the road the numbers could show this week to be the week the PS3 crossed the 4m mark. Right now it is very close, so it may be to early to for sure say it hasn't crossed.
