Don't give up on the PS3 yet. The gap isn't that wide yet. Ofcourse if it increases next year rather than decreases then there is no chance of a come back.

Not that big of a gap?

The gap is 7 million in the America's.

Let's assume that the PS3 will continue selling 200k a month. And let's make the absurd assumption that 360 stopped selling completely. It would take the PS3 35 months = 3 YEARS (!!!) to catch the 360.

I think it's safe to assume that PS3 will never catch the 360 in the US.

Hmm, you could be onto something there. What would happen though if it did indeed catch itself?

Admins never make mistakes!!!

(lol, good find, you can't match my ultimate powers though! All evidence is gone!)

Blu Ray and RROD are 2 reason I see the gap closing between the two consoles significantly over the next 4-5 years. PS3 might not beat 360 but it can get close.

It would be like a dog trying to catch its own tail. Going around in circles and never really getting anywhere.

Curses!

Well when MGS4 came out, and PS3 gained so much momentum, we all thought it would continue. But it just stopped. It was a momentary blip, not a trend. It's like when a RPG comes out in Japan and 360 sells a lot for a couple weeks.

Early in 2008, we also thought 360 didn't have a great games lineup compared to Sony. But as it turns out the 360 lineup was pretty strong after all. Now we are starting to see speculation that the 360 has nothing in the wings for 2009, but we shall see on that. I've doubted the 360's staying power all this time, but I believe it now.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

It is so insane to think that 360 getting more sales has nothing to do with 360 dropping to half the price of PS3 when PS3 was beating 360 all this year untill........Wait for it........The price drop. Don't shit on the excellent MGS4 while ignoring this fact.

November 10th charts last year had the sales at 138K to 79K for 360. Which is not that different from this year other then Sony has gone down a bit and 360 went up a bit.

I think that everyone should just relax. Sony has a very strong brand name, it can never be considered "out of it". But, I think it is safe to say, for this generation, that Sony will finish third in North America.
