The gap is 7 million in the America's.

Let's assume that the PS3 will continue selling 200k a month. And let's make the absurd assumption that 360 stopped selling completely. It would take the PS3 35 months = 3 YEARS (!!!) to catch the 360.

I think it's safe to assume that PS3 will never catch the 360 in the US. 

Hmm, you could be onto something there. What would happen though if it did indeed catch itself?

It would be like a dog trying to catch its own tail. Going around in circles and never really getting anywhere.
