Forums - Sales Discussion - On Sony closing the gap in 2009....

Ok guys, everytime it is the same flamewars, with the same comments and the same unanswered questions.

So from that last thread :

"haxxiy said:
Microsoft and their price cuts are just delaying the unevitable end. X360 is at its peak right now and will start going downhill next year, while PS3 will probably get the latest peak of all three consoles."

My point is as follows :

- 5.6 millions unit gaps

- 50 % games sales difference

A lot of PS3 users have an opinion on how Sony could close the gap on the install base (...ok nice), but nothing on the poor sales figures for the games and online content.

Could we talk about that for a change ??????

Cause If I let myself a bit to anti-fanboyism, I would say that the sales of the PS3 are still driven by the BR users... not the players.

Comments, thank you..

Oh my goodness, isn't this cliche dead yet? This link alone shows that you can buy a Blu-ray player for half the price of a PS3, so why would anyone searching for a player pay twice as much? That is, unless they wanted to play games on it as well.

And how is this supposed to answer the questions about games sales figures ???

PS3 attach ratio as of 11/08/08: 5.04

I think its humourous how many people seem oblivious to how the 360's year head start affects attach rate.

PS3 was closing the gap until MS was there with a pricecut.  Without the pricecut the PS3 would have closed the gap so why is it so hard to believe the PS3 could close the gap in 09?

And I find humorous how people seem oblivious to natural attach rate growth with the passing of years.
