We got a new DKC, a kirby game, 2D mario, Epic Mickey, and sonic... yeah we're missing BK but those alone are enough. And since when is PoP a platformer? isn't it more of an adventure?

That's true!
but no u cant say nothing on the N64 touches the wii. We're different eras here and i must say that DK, Banjo, and SM64 were all ground breaking for their time. That said the wii's 2D/3D balance in platoformers has been phenomenal
didn't read through the whole thread but why everyone only include the 3D platformer on Wii?
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Not that the Wii is pale when it comes to platformers compared to the N64 platformers, but unless the Wii has a Donkey Kong 64 game, it won't match.
Back when I first played DK64, it was like a god like platformer to me. You wouldn't believe how long I sat in front of my TV playing this game non stop.
Well maybe not 3D, but in 2D platformers, Wii wins no contest. NSMB, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby, Sonic Colors, Sonic 4, Wario Land Shake it

I've gotten...
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Most likely my favorite 3D Platformer ever... and that's saying something folks.)
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (So what if it's overpriced and a little too short? The core gameplay is there, and while they've put in some tweaks that I'm not 100% behind, the game is totally fun.)
Sonic Colors (This game is a virtual rollercoaster ride. So fun, frantic, and fast! Loving it so far... well, except for the dialogue. 
)
Epic Mickey (This is the game that has really covered all of my platformer needs. This is definitely more of an "Exploration Platformer", sort of in vein with Conker's BFD. It's pretty darn wonderful.)
and I have yet to play Kirby's Epic Yarn or Donkey Kong Country Returns... so pumped!
