Every single Final Fantasy character that's in a KH game, Nomura has creative control over....since they are his creations. He created Cloud/Sephiroth, he created Squall, he created Vivi, so even if he left, the whole FF may not be "his" IP, but those characters sure are. It then only becomes a matter of Disney.

i don't much care that FF13 is going to be on the 360; the only reason i do care is i bought a 400 dollar PS3 and the only game ive loved on it so far was MGS. if i knew FFXIII was gona be on the 360 i would of saved 100+ dollars and bought a system with more games...

Well, if this is real, the Squeenix has finally killed Squaresoft for me, I mean, Kitase is a great guy, but Nomura is by far the best man they have in the entire company, and is a fantastic character designer and game director, if both leave, who remains of the good times? Sakaguchi, Uematsu, Matsuno, and if this is real, now Nomura and Kitase will all have left.

Now (if this is real, of course), let's seriously hope Sony steps in and hires them, it's just what's needed to compensate the lack of first party RPGs for Sony

That would be awesome for Nomura, but it isn't. All his creations are SE property.

Nomura doesn't have any control over the FF characters. They're owned by Square and no-one else. Square paid Nomura when he made those characters and therefore belong to the company. So KH can easily continue without Nomura.

Personally I don't believe this interview for a second. I can however understand if they would leave, seeing the uninsired company SE has become. Their own company would be awesome, but the market for RPGs isn't that good anymore, so they do need support from someone, like Nintendo is supporting Matsuno and Sega is supporting Platinum Games.

And by the way: Lost Odyssee sold pretty well for a RPG. It's the best sold so far. Symphonia 2 is the only game in the near future that has the possibility of selling more. (Console RPG, and until FF13 of course).

Besides what's already been said before, I just wanted to point this out: he didn't create Vivi. The FFIX and FFXII characters were done by Amano, I believe.

As for the interview, I'm not sure - are there more links on it? I don't like Wada's direction either, but it isn't because FFXIII is going multiplatform. I think that's a silly reason to hate on him for. What would Nomura or Kitase propose to make up for the many sales they would have lost in the West?

Wouldn't bother me either way really. Nomura and Kitase have successfully submarined what use to be my favorite RPG franchise.
