Forums - Sales Discussion - Microsoft, This Is How You Blow Your PS3 Lead In Japan

Please give Microsoft some credit, I am pretty confident they would design a display case with adequate airflow. Please don't suggest that is the cause here.

Most displays are designed and supported by a 3rd party company and not the product manufacturer themselves.

I realize that MS didn't actually fabricate the case, but they have final approval on any display units created.  I am assuming that they would have a special requirement for airflow.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

they were gonna lose the lead anyways... no one expects microsoft to make a remarkable comeback, just to not sell horrible like before.

You'd be surprised how much things get handed off to another company.  Worse still many times it gets handed off again to a 3rd company.  The first comapny would be external marketing and the 3rd company could be the actual retail display firm.

Far too many possibilities and situations.  I'm not syaing that's exactly how it happened but it's a fairly common practice.

Maybe it's an original xbox 360 from the first batch of display units.

That's the same thing I was thinking. I mean I doubt the Japanese are putting out new displays.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

The japanese will go in and ask , so what does the 3 red lights thing do, standbye?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Keep in mind that this could be an older xbox 360, It might not be one of the newer ones with the jasper or falcon chip. Lol funny pic though.

I thought... according to numerous Microsoft owners here, that Microsoft has successfully eliminated RRoD using the new chip (whatever it's called)

and how do you know, that this 360 isn't over a year old ?
