How is Madden Wii a flop? Wii sales are gradual not 1st week. Madden 08 sold 800k (great for a Nintendo system) and so far 09 is selling better than 08 did. Should break 1m and possibly (though unlikely) outsell PS3's version.

Also Viva Pinata?? Check the sales... over 1m - hardly a flop by any standard.

Re: NiGHTS - There was no expectations this would be a big seller. It was a mediocore sequel to a 10 year old game than also sold poorly but had a cult following. Similarly Dewy's Adventure, Zack & Wiki, NMH & Okami had low sales but no one expected much from them (or should have) either.  Z&W outperformed Capcom's expectations and NMH is Grasshoppers most successful game ever.

360 owners avoided the first like the plague. As they did Spectral Force 3.

Lair, too human, haze and few others I forget mostly are considered flops.

If so many people consider something a flop, most likely it is (and I'm saying many many people, not just one person doing a list) because that means there was a very high expectation of the game by a lot of people (again not just one person). Expectations that the game will be awesome and have awesome sells, then there is something that is out of the community hands that adds to the flop factor- development costs. Of course if the game sells doesn't come reasonably close to the dev costs then of course it will be a flop. I think those 3 factors add to "flop".

If a game sucks + game sells awful + dev cost loss is really high = flop

Wii fit isn't no where near a flop, even though I find it boring.

Operation Darkness was pretty bad, and I was really hyped up for it. The demo just killed it for me. I plan on picking up Spectral Force 3 sooner or later.
