Forums - Sales - American Numbers up

I've been to over 5 stores this week and not one had the Arcade or elite in stock, but each store had a supply of Pro's in stock. I also don't think we will see great sales until the Holiday bundle comes in, late last year and for the first 3-4 months of this year the pro was packed with 2games and was $350, its only $300 now and comes with no packaged games by Microsoft.

i seriously think it won't last more than some weeks.

next week 360 will definetely be ahead WW....due to JApan + IU + whole week of price drop

I think it should be, but winning one week by 5,000 then turning around and losing the next week isn't the domination that MS had predicted with this price drop.

And if Sony were to drop price even by $50 WW the 360 will still be heavily outsold this holiday season by the PS3.

Just imagine if the PS3 was priced at $299. It would probably sell closer to 150,000 in NA alone the weekend it dropped. I think 360's price drop delayed the PS3 catching up by a few months, but it will still pass the 360 WW next year IMO.

PS3 72,162

Uh Big no, will be clear and apparent in NPD. Unless of course VGC drops PS3 by large margins in the next few weeks. The shipment numbers for this quarter will be so off VGC it's not going to be funny. At this rate VGC will have the difference betwee the PS3 and 360 at close to 5 million even by the end of this quarter. That is simply not going to be the case. That would mean somehow the PS3 wiped out nearly a million in shipment difference this quarter, no way, no how. In fact, the shipment difference is probably going to be even bigger between the two than it was on June 30 of 5.89 million.

With VGC being off -13k for the 360 and 40k+ for the PS3 with NPD in August this is going to be interesting going forward because they have now added even more to the PS3 than last week.  Unless adjustments are made going forward they are going to be off quite a bit this month indeed.

Chill out.  It all evens out eventually.  The 360 was overtracked by quite a bit earlier this year and adjustments were made to correct it.

Well its sad to see the price drop fail....but if consumers don;t see value in the 360.....which this year has proved they don't (atleast in Europe)....what more can M$ do.

They got GTA 4, they dropped prices below wii in EU in time for its launch, they got FF13, they dropped NA prices, they got tons of JRPG's for japan

the result.....PS3 got MGS4 n has never loked back in sales.

360 Price Cut was only for 2 days but even still the inital day of the cut should see the highest sales of the week. Very dissappointing tbh.

360 steady death confirmed = depends on nexts week sales

It is the cheapest console but is outsold by the most expensive by $200 dollars WW by about 40k-50k weekly and some weeks 80k+. I can't wait to see Xbots like StarCraft and MrStickBall try to spin this.

"But, but we have LIVE and the most RPGS" or "Sales arn't everything" or even "Wait till holidays."

MSFT screwed up big time with the 360 in terms of value because there is none to be had for $199.

- No Wifi ($100)
- No Online ($50)
- No Hard Drive ($120)
- No Blu Ray (HDDVD, hahah)
- No reliabilty (hahahahah)

Good sales all around.
I wonder when we will go above 150k again.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Seeing as stores came out yesterday and today saying they have seen increase in 360 sales from 200% to 600% i think it is pretty safe to assume VGChartz is waaaaaay out on this weeks numbers.

Quite low numbers on 360, I expected more. Well, maybe next week. :)
