I knew there was a reason I will never get married. Wives seems to always have control and I'm not submitting to anyone. It is a great deal but it isn't worth your wife putting you on couch duty. If you really want to take the deal that bad, the only thing I can suggest is buying the wife something nice to pacify her...but I doubt that would work. Not every man has Kobe Bryant money.

it's not that great a deal, what does the elite have above the 199 arcade? a hard drive and a better cable, that is it?, well that is for demos and you definitely don't need 120gigs.... unless you want to buy movies and such on live...

Trust me with the games you can download (CASTLE CRASHERS is amazing!) you need a hard drive. The arcade is worthless.

OT: Don't buy it, you are not even excited about it you just want to do it because it is a good deal but if you dont want it then its a wasted 280 dollars

Buy the PS3...off of SonyStyle with good credit you can get the $499 system for $350 or the $399 for $250.

How about you give us three reasons you would buy a 360, because it seems like you don't have any. Therefore I fail to see the point of this thread.

Here's what makes it tempting for me:

- It's cheap (well cheaper anyway, I bought my Xbox used for 40$ which I use for a media center, not much else)
- My work friends have been bugging me to play online with them. So lots of peer pressure
- I like the arcade games so that's why the 120GB HD is tempting for me. I'd probably never fill it though but it's that idea that something better is out there that constantly nags at you to get.

I originally wasn't considering it at all, but as a guy who likes electronics, having a piece of everything is tempting. I just got all my networking finished up in my house. I have a 24 port 1 gig switch installed and a lot of connectors lonely for some data transmission love. It's too bad the 360 doesn't have a 1gig port or it'd make it even more tempting ;)

I'm a little more then peeved off with Nintendo on it's storage solution. I've payed for more then my fair share of WiiWare, Wii, and VC games to be so screwed over by their lack of storage solution is infuriating now.

My original gut reaction was to avoid the deal like the plague. I should stick to that. I guess I was just fishing for other people to peer pressure me into not buying it ;)

BTW I'm Canadian so American PS3 deals don't carry over so well here...

Tell her about Netflix and how many movies you will be able to watch without having to go rent them...

Let's see: the 360 has no games that you're interested in, the Wii and PS3 both do have a many games that you're interested in -enough that you have a considerable backlog- and it's going to put stress (probably minor, but very real) on your marriage if you buy yet another game console.

Why exactly do you want a 360 again? Just for the sake of owning one? That's not a very healthy reason to buy a game console.
