Forums - Nintendo - Which would you get as a second console - PS3 or 360

If I was to buy 1 of the 2, I would lean towards the PS3. Even though there are more games on the 360 that appeal to me, I dislike the 360 controller.

There are enough games for me to play on the PS3 (the NHL 09 6 player MMO EA Cup would keep me occupied for a long time.......not to mention the exclusives). However, the PS3 would need to be the 60GB, as I did not have a PS2, and there are plenty of games I would like to play.

PS3 and I have done just that.

What is getting me is that a few of the new games coming out like Force unleashed and Bond I think I will get on the Wii as the controls look better.

I think the PS3 is the better console.
I like it as a piece of hardware, I'm a whore for HD movies so blu-ray is a plus, it has more interesting games than the 360 (not to say the 360 doesn't have any, it certainly does).
The console I am more likely to get is the 360 (but only because I own a PS3 already). And if we were to expand a bit, I would rather have a Wii as secondary really.

(I know, I'm not a Wii owner)

A new PC.

It's funny, I want PS3 and 360.  I don't have a wife, girlfriend or kids, so I can spare the money.  (Which is why I stay single)

But there are soooooo many games on any one console, I really might hold back.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

360 for the games.

Realistically, I'm more likely to get a HTPC, which has most of the big PS3/360 games anyway, works with 360 controllers, and I can put a cheap blu-ray drive in it.

I had your thinking, built a great PC, but I almost never play demanding PC games and I miss playing console games.

Plus, no controller feels right (to me) with most games.  Except the 360 controller with Xbox360 ports, which I could have been playing on my couch eating Totino's Pizza Rolls... but I digress... :)

Note that I said HTPC, not PC.  No need to move from the couch.

A HTPC can be used as a living-room console replacement.  Bust out the 7.1 surround sound, sit on your couch, grab a 360 controller, and play FFXIII, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, GTA IV on your plasma - all with better resolution, more options, and more detail than 360/PS3.

As for media, hard to beat a $120 blu-ray drive while you're downloading torrents of your favorite shows in the background.

Price isn't much of a concern either, $550 will get you better visual performance than any console.

But yeah, if you're feeling lazy, 360 works, maybe even a ps3.  Just not as well.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

I have a PC so I can play all the "exclusive" xbox-games on this machine.

I could set my PC up for all that.  But, I'm lazy...  and my PC is in my office, because I also work off of it.  So the wires would suck. (I rent, so I can't do a ceiling drop.)

The console i think that is better is: X360 (more games)

The console im more likely to get is: PS3 (BluRay, dependability, games of my taste)

My first consoles this gen PSP then Wii

Console I think is better to buy: 360 as it's 1/3 the price of PS3 for the same thing...

Console I got: 360 for 205 euros with 4 games (PGR Halo GTA Galaxywars) 2 game pads....in PS3 i would have paid 600+ for the same bundle... yay :/

game libraries are equivalent to me.... though i prefer the 360 actuall one over PS3 and the upcomming titles of the PS3 over the 360's.
One thing that turned me off PS3 though is the fact that games are announced 3 years in advance.... I think it's harmfull to the current lineup who gets less exposure.

Got a DS recently too and my only regret is that I didn't get it sooner ^^
