here is what i think:
i respect and like Bill Gates because he is a great man,
why the hate for MS ?
i don't hate for any reason ,, it's just they giving the ps3 a hard time that's all
and why would u hate a company that competes with PS?
because i love PS and i'm a fanboy , out of my hand , can't control it ,
anyway i only hate , it's not like i will burn thier company or say the "xbox360" is bad, in fact it's good and even better -for now-

@Burgles, I despise MS for mainly personal reason. I was on their Win98/NT4 DTS project for nearly three years, ending as they went on trial and more evidence became apparent on their personal information gathering software that was embedded in every version of Windows that had been released. It wasn't even just buying trend info, like is nearly expected now, but very personal info, keystroke gathering in some cases. I found out about this when I was working with a development team out of Spokane when I was at their office in Las Colinas, about 2 mos before I left.

Oh yeah, and their operating systems have always been shit... I worked their for the money, duh...

Windows ME made me hate Microsoft. Countless audio video products made me hate Sony (Includes faulty PS1 & PS2's). Could never hate Nintendo or Sega though. I do understand how arrogant they both were back in the day but it didn't matter to me back then.

The thing is even though I have hate for Sony and Microsoft I still buy there products. I think Sony still makes the best TVs and I love my 360.

I personally dont but I think its for 2 major reasons:

1. MS is still relatively new in the gaming market and the market perception is that MS is 'buying' their way into it and stepping on mostly Sony's previous domain.

2. Windows has pretty much built the market perception of 'forcing' the consumer to use one product (especially in Europe) so this stigma holds for any MS product of asking you to pay large sums of money as a form of extortion.

Face it; if someone could have made a better OS then they would have. ME was pathetic and Vista is annoying, but 95, 98, and Xp, the most used OS are better then anything ever made. Mac is crap, and Ubuntu is a joke. Linux is pretty good.

Let's put it like this:

If Microsoft was a person, it would be the huge fat kid in class. The one who bullies others and steals their lunches.

Those kids usually aren't very popular...

For the un-British among us this translates roughly to the Yankees buying World Series victories.

It used to be because of windows and monopoly things, but as we speak, saying M$ is pretty much outdated, expect for Sony fanboys. As you can see, vgchartz is currently populated with a huge majority of sony fanboys, so it's easy to always see M$. In other forums that have more civilized talking, they are respectful and don't use that 90s M$.

I find that Microsoft is one of those huge companies that's notorious for taking, taking, taking, taking... and never giving >_>

They seem to put out the shittiest products time and time again, and it's completely obvious that they're a "HOLY SHIT THAT'S BIG, ME TOO" company... They're a company that doesn't seem to focus on it's own gains, more or less just misfortune to others. I just get really bad mojo from them.

The Zune sucked ass, more or less an attempt to cash in on the iPod market.

The original Xbox was made to cash in on the video game industry, (they have almost 0 history in hardware)

The obvious anti-trust lawsuits and they're blatant disregard for monopoly laws.

The product they're known for blows ass >_>; Window's is the only OS around, and it's clearly not because it's superior. It's a piece and we all know it.



To me, they're just not a company worth having any interest in, they're worth a ton because they know how to make money, and that's money I don't personally thing they've made with honest integrity.

If they had expanded the software side of the video game industry, bought out more gaming studio's, put they're oodles of cash into great titles, and become a fantastic publisher of titles, I'd be much more lenient with them. But instead, they put out shoddy hardware, nickel and dime you for ever last thing they can, and generally don't contribute much (imo) to the industry. When Microsoft's press conference announced that they've generated 1 billion dollars in revenue from xbox live gold subscribers, I wiped a tear of disgust from my eye -_- I've definitely got a large dose of bias against Microsoft, I don't really like anything they do, I'm not so blind as to say that the 360's got no decent games, but none of that is due to microsoft >_> their console sucks ;/
