With absolutely no sarcasm. Leo-j you've made a lot of progress since I joined here. I'm really happy to see your growth. It's a shame you're being lumped in with blue-ocelot.
OT: Good going Wii.

I completely agree. When you and Crazzy said PS3 domination begins with MGS4, you were 110% correct.
MGS4 week was annyoing for Wii only owners, I'm sure, and GTAIV week was annoying to me, and I gave GTAIV a 9.5/10.
When numbers come out, and if you don't like the Wii as much as another console, it's best to stay away from a sales related site.
I mean, it sold 200 freakin' thousand units in one week in one territory. Then it sold 240,000 units in the next territory, lol. This is real power here, man. This is the summer slowdown. Unbeatable.
The assertion that games would save the PS3 and ruin the Wii, was false.
...these sales are fantastic. Could anyone have predicted it 2 years ago? I remember when gamespot had an april fools joke that said the "revolution could win the console war" and everybody had a good laugh. Now those people aren't laughing, they're hating.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
It's a shock that the Wii so that well and the PS3 deteriorated in such a flash. The important question is, why does the 360 and PS3 suffer from "hangovers" after the launch of big calibre games?

keep blaming on the lack of 80 gig model. I can bet the number will be in the same range after the new shipments, because what Sony really did is creating an artificial sale spike here(can't think of a phase that fit to the description). At first they discontinue the 80 gig model for many months, then leaked out information about an upcoming 80gig bundle for a limited quantity. Now buyers will wait for a that limited 80 gig bundle and by the time it is released you'll see a huge spike because consumers been holding out the past few months. There is a down side to this strategy, because if Sony change this limited bundle into an everyday sale item it'll drop the sale volume of the 40 gig model and repeating the outcome of what we saw when the 20 gig and 60 gig are around.

Curse you for stealing my post!
Anyways, great job for the Wii this week. Quite amazing numbers. This holiday season will definitely be interesting for the Wii, I can't wait to see what numbers it pulls. It all depends on how many Nintendo makes...

239k for Wii stands out by far. 180k in front of X360. 190k in front of PS3.
^also what stands out is that it sold more then double of them combined

exactly. i dont know how he thinks this is a normal week. the only thing normal about it is that nintendo takes the first two spots.
Total Championships: Nintendo - 4, Sony - 2, Atari - 1, Microsoft - 0, Sega - 0

If the PS2 has sold 120m units worldwide, and the XBOX/GC combined sold 65m-70m - it means the PS2 is edging on 60%-65% now. The XBOX & GC haven't been openly sold as "new" products for years - this is the only reason the PS2 is edging a 60% marketshare. When the generation was "decided", the PS2 marketshare would have been in the 50%-55% range. If the 360 + PS3 end up selling 350k-400k (combined) worldwide - the Wii would need to average 650k-700k/week to get close to a 60% marketshare (and closer to 800k for a 65% marketshare) - assuming it has to "catch up" units as well. 700k/week is approx 3m/month, which is far beyond their manufacturing capacity at the moment. Anything over a 55% marketshare (and sustained) would be pretty amazing.
