Forums - Gaming Discussion - Myth of Metal Gear Solid 4 being too much for xbox 360 to handle...

First of all let me say that I absolutly love Metal Gear 4. The game is succeding in tying up the stroy of 3 previous games as well as delivering some a few new and interesting gameplay segments. So I don't mean to undervalue metal gear when I say this...

However there is nothing in this game that xbox360 can't handle.

Therefore the only reasons this game can't come to the 360 are:

A) Kojima doesn't want to do it

B) Sony paid for complete exclusive

Well, prepere yourself for thefanboy rants, but on topic I agree with you, so far we haven't see any real evidence to support the myth... and most likely we are not going to see it...

So far you havent played the game, so stop trolling

Is not trolling since I'm not bashing the game, I agreed with the OP and none of you have showed any real evidence...

Those in-game engine cut-scenes dont take up much space.

I think MGS4 could easily be made on 2 DVDs. That's 18Gb, the difference to a single-layer Blu-Ray disc is neglible.

Great idea, 3 DVDs while you watch all cut-scenes in 480P.

Heck, why not also port it to Wii while we are at it?

Do some research on these codecs used and the quality they produce compared to their size and audio quality.

are you SERIOUSLY trying to tell me x264 compression is going to sound and look as good of uncompressed video/audio?

And frankly, the fact that YOU "have not seen ANYTHING visually that makes MGS4 imposible to port to 360" means absolutely nothing, as you aren't the programer for the games. We've seen tons of bad ports, and frankly, almost all of the programers are smarter than you or me.

Umm, it's been confirmed for many months now that it's actually a 50gb dual-layer Blu-ray Disc and all of the cutscenes are generated in real-time by the game's engine. The audio is only available in standard Dolby Digital so you can't claim the space is wasted by uncompressed audio either.

Complete and utter FAIL.

Links showing that is a full 50GB Blu-ray disk please...

Uh... doesnt it say in the game that its a duel layer blu-ray disc and the technology in the time the live in is nuts now. And because of the blu-ray he doesnt need to put in disc 2.

Still that doesn't prove is a 50Gb game, we don't know the space used by the game, and what kind of media (High Res Textures unlikely)is using more space and what can be and what can not be compressed...

It's called Google, you tool. I hate posters like this. They ask for links to shit that's been discussed a thousand times instead of taking the five seconds to navigate to a search engine and look something up.

I'm sure it can be compressed but I'm pretty sure this is dual layered also.

No it doesn't. It says bluray disk.

I have not seen any proof yet what so ever its a 50 GB disk. Once someone rips it on the net and torrents, I'll let you know...

@kingofwale

You are correct in saying that programmers need to figure out if this is visually too much for the 360 not you or me. However all I am saying is that if they can figure out how to port games like call of duty 4 and bad company demo that is on xbox live...this should not be a problem for them.

Again, show and interview where he clearly says that the game can not fit on a 50 Gb disc... is your point not mine...

Because I haven't see one...
