The PS3 isn't shipping more units than the Wii. Last I checked, Nintendo has UPPED there sale figures while Sony and M$ have both said they won't meet their expectations. Also, let's assume you are right, and you aren't, that the PS3 is shipping more units than the Wii. So? PS3 sales have already begun to stagnate, while the Wii sales are still strong. Shipping 1m and selling MAYBE half that, compared to 700K SELLING out? Uh huh. War over? I don't think so, it hasn't even begun yet.

Well Idunno. But sony started makeing PS3's about 1 month before release. (why there were so few) And has proven the ability to produce in the area of 1million/month. Sony is working on ramping their production up. (so they make more) Nintendo released with at least 2.5million Consoles. so 4.5-2.5 = 2million made since launch. Wait. Sony made 2million PS3's on January 7th. So Obviously I would say Sony is at 2.7 to 3million Produced right now. -500,000 made before launch. that leaves 2.2 to 2.5million... That is accounted for. They supposedly have 1million on a boat going to europe right now. Meaning their producing 50% more than Nintendo. Look at those numbers... and think about them. Am I wrong? in refrence to 1million PS3's on a boat. 1.9million (sold) + 1million on a boat. Plus 1million like you all say is sitting on shelfs. (worldwide. I am sure the PS3 is at 1.9million right now. (that is saying 100,000 in first 2 weeks of febuary... if only 250,000 was sold in january.) Means sony has produced 5million PS3's. Sony has produced between 3 and 4million PS3s I think. As there's close to 350,000 on Shelves in Japan. (sony said they shipped 1million to japan in december) (and with Japan sales not even hitting 650,000...) That is more than Nintendo. Wich adds up to 1.8million NA, 1.3million JP. and ~1.2million EU. (sold) Wich is 4.3million at the end of march. Wii is at 4.5million right now... and producting 800,000-1million/month. Wich would place it at ~6million at the end of march. (IF it dont stop selling) That is still higher than Sony. But after march... Sony will have the... 'most new' stuff. So April will be a sony win. (most likely on world sales). March the Wii might be coming back towards the PS3. And then in June... I see the PS3 doing another push, and leaving the Wii in the dust. Wii's at 4.5 million...and you're suggesting that the PS3 will be there at the end of March? very likely. But passing the Wii up in April? Nonsense. If the Wii has 6 million sold by end of March...that means 1.5 million PS3s would have to sell by the end of April to match just that...probably more like 2 million accounting for Wii's April sales. 2 million PS3s sold in April? Ludricous and you know it.

The Wii will enjoy a long life cycle due to further inovations in interface and game designs, HD graphics won't enter into it likely ever. Just because it launched with a Wiimote, shouldn't convince anyone that that's it for interface advancements on Wii. New game designs along the lines of Wii Sports, Brain age, and Nintendogs will continue to drive Wii as well. In three years the HD boxes will have some REALLY amaizing artwork to look at. Wii will have a huge list of compelling new game designs and interface hardware. It will continue to be no contest for the duration of Wii's lifecylce. Wii will be well out in front, with the HD boxes scapping it out for thier share of that niche market.

I think by the time Wii is about to be replaced, HD in the U.S. will probably be hovering around the 50% market penetration in the U.S, and by then HD technology and consoles will be a lot more affordable for those of us on lean budgets.
