Forums - Sony - do you think Sony is holding back some titles due to.......

Lol. Well, Killzone 2 was announced for 2008. GG even had "Coming in 2008" on the front page of the Killzone 2 website for a month or two. :P

But February certainly is close to 2008. It's like DMC4's delay. Not much at all. Just enough to get in some extra polish.

Or enough to move a bad game clear of comparision to its far superior launch game-sequel competitor on the same platform......

@ OP Sony has never had any problem trying to sell consoles in the fear that they will lose money. Trust me, they want all of the PS3s bought so they can sell the games that they already have released. I honestly don't understand all of the delays either. It makes me wonder if it is harder to program for then people are leading on.

Well first I'd like to throw in the phrases "delaystation 3" and "domination delayed."

Well, when a company makes shit that works, maybe it takes longer and costs more, ever consider that, genius? It's like Miyamoto's quote about games (release it when it's good), except with hardware. Sony is Nintendo in the analogy, and Microsoft would be like Ubisoft, farting out the 360 like Ubisoft did Red Steel and Haze.

As for "domination delayed," you Xbots built that straw man up on your own for the express purpose of burning it and patting yourselves on the back. And by that I mean, had it fed to you by MS's guerilla marketing online FUD machine.

PS3 is selling as well as 360 over the same period but at a higher price and with more competition.

BAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Did you not get (As everyone else in the thread did) that that line was simply a joke at the beginning of a serious post (which you would know if you hadn't edited the rest of the post out)?

As for the last line? You cant have it both ways. Either the PS3 will do fantastically because of the strong Playstation brandname but should be held to account for the beating its taking relative to the PS2 and it should simultaneously be acknowledged that most of the PS3's sales are attributed to brandname rather than console or library quality OR you can say the PS3 is selling well off its own strength but will never catch the Wii, thrash the 360 or match the PS2 due to the Playstations brandname being irrelevant.

Rest of your post was even more beneath comment.

Eh?  Both ways?  Never use Sony's coup de grace with PS2 to bash PS3, I think you know I won't fall for the bait.  Bs.

It'll never catch Wii, it'll beat 360 handily, and it won't match PS2.  That's the truth.  Wait, did you just imply that if PS3 doesn't catch PS2 it SHOWS that the Playstation name is irrelevant?  O.M.F.G.  Of all the possible tests that are obviously fanboy-created, that one takes the cake, man.  Congrats.

You lose.  You simply type non sequiturs about Microsoft topics and expect people to swallow them.

@ Starcraft , if the playstation brand becomes irrelevant it won't be this generation , Sony is activley selling and supporting 3 pieces of hardware PS2, PS3 , PSP.

whoa. funny formatting...this post = useless now.

Alan Wake was never announced as being a 2008 title (too use your Killzone 2 line)  Splinter Cell I alreadyy mentioned in this thread.

So if it were even delayed next year, the same could be said? "Ready when it's ready" is no way indicative of it coming out next year, or in two.

Until I get solid, concrete dates, I'm also holding Halo Wars and Fable 2 suspect.

Fable 2 is finished content wise, but just needs polishing

There are enough games out now for the systems that delays don't really effect anyone, but at least the PS3 won't be in a shop anytime soon so you can play the games that are already out. I'd just needed to remind everyone of that for no reason at all. As others have said, though, 360 games get delayed a lot, too, heh.

@ the bolded.

Not at all.  You are fully aware I implied nothing of the sort.  What I did was indicate that you couldn't have a particular argument (one which I've seen you argue both sides for) both ways.  Your fully aware of that as well, but being unable to defend your position, you simply decided to avoid the crux of my previous post and try to change the topic by resorting to the usual "he disagrees with me, hes a fanboy" logic you deploy whenever your caught in a tough spot.

The funny thing is, over the last few months we've had far more reports of PS3's failing than 360's.  Whilst Microsoft is clearly showing success in bringing their failure rate down (to the point that I haven't heard a single example of a post-October manufactured console Rroding), the PS3 is proving to be poorly receptive to software updates, certain games (GTAIV, AC) and disk errors.
