Looks shit.

I'm not even joking there, how can people still be as over excited as they are for this underwhelming hype fest?

can you care to post a gameplay video from your fave console, that looks as good as the second killzone footage?

Hi Dallinor the cat.

To me there isnt such a big difference between FPS and TPS. And that's why u often see ppl call GoW a FPS.

Maybe GoW took influence from Killzone, but now Killzone 2 is taking influence from GoW. The system where you are using cover, plus you have a little squad.

Gears of War clone confirmed.

Excuse me? KZ looks and feels a lot like Killzone, which in case you don't know, came out years before Gear of War. If anything, Gears lent a little atmosphere from KZ.

And why are people so impressed by Crysis? It was really, really underwhelming and by far the biggest letdown of last year for me. CoD 4 is an amazing game, but its visuals are fairly standard for an FPS and it is hardly realistic. Brother in Arms is way more realistic.

Tbh, Killzone was the game that really made the "dark and gritty" artstyle popular.  You can blame it for all the grey/brown shooters these days, lol.

You had a squad in Killzone as well. :|

Freedom Fighters and Brothers in Arms feature both and do them very well at that.

Ahhh freedom fighters. I loved that game!

The multiplayer was a bit unbalanced though.

What I love most is that people have jumped quickly to make assumptions about me, by linking to a Nintendo board and making assumptions I'm a GeoW fanboy. I've not alot of love for that title either!

Seriously though, what is there to excite with regards to Killzone 2? Boring gunplay? Uninspiring level design? A supposedly beautiful game that the PS3 is going to chug along at 30fps/720p? You all kiss this game's ass for being technically amazing yet really it doesn't look that special at all!

I'm not gonna rave about this game just because it may possibly have the biggest development budget ever, if it ends up being shit in the end, you guys will be the suckers! If not, fair enough, but from what I understand and the general concensus around here - Resistance is the PS3 FPS to keep the eyes on.

Ok, how do you know that there is boring gun play? Or Uninspired level design? Show me your Youtube video of you playing this game, and showing me those things, not some other Xbot troll on another site, you playing the game. Because both of those statements require you to have PLAYED the game to make.

As for the 30fps at 720? The game is running in engine in real time in the game play footage shown and on the floor at the Media day with zero frame stuttering and no slow down, so again, show me the video of it happening. Show me you playing this game and proving it doesn't run at 60fps.

Oh, and show me the technical read out from Guerrilla saying that its running in 720. I'll be waiting.

You were attacked because you came into this thread as a troll, as such I will be treating you as a troll.

Slime, if a game does something (Killzone), and then another game copies it (Gears of War), and then the sequel to the original game (Killzone 2) that started that does it again with modifications... THEN KILLZONE 2 IS DOING WHAT IT STARTED IN KILLZONE, not copying Gears.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

To both of you,

The developers themselves confirmed that the game would run 720p and 30fps. However, just because it's 30fps doesn't mean that the game will be chugging around because Gears of War and Resistance: Fall of Man both ran at 30fps and they by no means 'chugged'. The issue here will be how well the frame rate will stay at 30fps and judging by the gameplay in all previous showings, things have been looking very smooth. Lastly, just because it's 720p doesn't mean it would look any less beautiful. Obviously beauty is one's own opinion, but it shouldn't be tied directly into the resolution the game will run at.

HA! I pwned myself on that one. Last I read it was running 60fps and they hadnt commented on the resolution settings.

But dont tell him that, I want him to find the link and show me. :)
