For those who are uninformed on the term “Barbenheimer”, the brief of it is this: Two blockbuster films (Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer) released on the same day… but instead of movies, we’re discussing two blockbuster video games, Grand Theft Auto VI and Ocarina of Time (Remake).

Place your bets! Will Nintendo be bold and release OoT Remake alongside GTAVI? Or will they cower in fear at Rockstar’s juggernaut release?

I don't think they need to care. Their games aren't super reliant on launch sales and the audience for OOT and GTA6 don't seem that aligned anyway.

I dont think they will, but if they do, i dont think it matters that much

IF Ocarina Of Time Remake comes out this year, it will probably be a week or two after GTAVI I think.

To hell with OoT and GTAVI. The real competition in November is Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remake! LET THEM FIGHT BITCHES!

I think id get ocarina. I never played the original and feel this will give me a new experience. Gta6 will be similar to last few , i can't imagine being that blown away

It would be a stupid thing to do so. Even if GTA VI does not compete within the Switch 2's ecosystem, they do compete in attention and word of mouth.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

its not going to matter. they appeal to two completely different markets. the intersection between the two is very, very tiny.

Total Championships: Nintendo - 4, Sony - 2, Atari - 1, Microsoft - 0, Sega - 0

I don't think so. It's not even that implausible for a December release date and missing out on Black Friday entirely. Nintendo already has a big title (in terms of market) in late October. Switch Sports Resort has a shot in its lifetime to outsell OOT.
