under 20 million 6 8.00%

Nah... They will do much better than 50m. Especially if you combine PS6 and PS6 portable.

PS6 will have a very (extremely) slow start, but in a 7~8 years generation....

1 - The public will eventually want a PS5 upgrade. The most common option, almost certainly, will be a PS6 or PS6 portable... I mean, Xbox is dead, PCs will continue to be more expensive, besides requiring "extra care," and Nintendo is a different market niche.

2 - The vast majority buys consoles online. The era of buying directly from the store is ending.

3 - The public will not abandon their Playstation game collection and jump to another platform (At least not PC/Nintendo/Xbox).

4 - Prices will probably fall in ~5 years.

If Playstation managed to make over 80 million with the mess that was the PS3, they will succeed in a market where Xbox is dead and the biggest direct competitor are PCs even more expensive than PS6.

I have never seen a brand experience this level of hatred without them suffering extreme financial consequences. So I would be shocked if PS6 did well. More than likely, it'll come out of the gates like PS3 did and be a commercial disappointment for at least its first couple years.

You're talking about the best case scenario. But, what I am seeing is the start of worldwide economic crisis, unseen since the Great Depression. Remember also that Trump needs to remain in power, to avoid imprisonment. His presidency might end up with more conflicts especially over the Greenland and with Canada. This won't end well and console sales will tank for a couple years if civil war scenario comes true. The best case scenario for all PS6 branded  consoles is to reach 50 millions.

It's very possible... But that would probably mean an "ice age" for all consoles, not just the PS6. Nintendo would be affected just as much, and Xbox... well, maybe things would get a little worse for xbox —if that's even possible, lol!

Apparently civil war is a realistic scenario but PS6 selling over 50M is impossible.

They don't even need it to sell that well, that's the thing people don't understand. Did Windows 11 sell that well compared to Windows 10? Nope. Did it matter? Nope. That's the position Sony has got themselves into. The PS5 alone has become a console that is practically immortal. Doesn't matter what they do going forward and how it sells.

It all comes down to price.
I think the physical games thing is blown out of proportion.
What matter's is keeping the price at 700$ (at most) (for the base unit).

If the PS6 is 800-1000$ it is gonna effect sales.

It all comes down to just how long it takes till things get better. A really expensive PS6 would have low sales after launch but a significant price cut once RAM and storage get cheaper would help massively. Since the PS6 will be on the market for a long time I'd say over 50m is more likely than not though either way it wouldn't be surprising at all if it becomes the worst selling Playstation ever with the way things are going.

If the console is 800 it will
1000,perhaps
1200,not sure
1400+ hell noo.

Not that i care,i hope it fails so hard they come crawling back begging for their hardcore fans they betrayed to come back and support them
SHUT UP!!! Let me have my dreams alright!

Too tough to say so early and without a price. It is possible for sure for a PlayStation to sell that low. Just because Vita is their only hardware that sold really low doesn't mean something can't sell under 80 million units again.
