Since Sony is already shutting down their main disc factory, expect new disc based games to be extremely limited.

Basically pre-order any game you want from a reputable retailer that doesn't cancel pre orders out of nowhere.

Fuck sony they have been planning this for damn years to put a knive in there loyal fanbase their backs who supported them even true the bad times.
Fuck them all will never support them ever again!

only reason iam still keeping my ps5 is because me and my gf play games together thats it.

I’m still genuinely shocked at the timing. 22% of the console base buying physical still is no chump figure. That’s still millions of players.

I figured we still had at least 1 more generation of physical with the PS6’s disc drive being what the PS5’s is now. Technically optional.

What a bandaid rip.

Its more than that. 82% of PS5s sold are the ones with a disc drive. Even the 18% digital consoles arent even accurate since people buy the disc drive add-on. So it could be like 10% of all PS5 owners have a digital only console. Thats like 9-10 million gamers.

You know things are bad when this basically unified the gaming community. No console war BS. I basically shouldn't sell my PS5 once the Six comes out. It's gonna be very valuable.

I have a ps5 digital only becauze it whas on sale last year for,dont be shocked 320 euro, the physical add on goes on sale once in a while for 80 so i wanted to pick that up one day.

I have a number of  ps5 physical games like no mans sky and cyberpunk,but thats all over now sony besides a phew(or do i have to say a number? Sorry my english isnt great) ps1/2 classics they maybe will release wont get a euro from me anymore.

Sounds like that is that then. The decision seems to have been maybe 2 years in the making. With the need for physical discs dying, at least the employees at the plant aren't losing their jobs (it appears) as they move to microlenses. 

What are microlenses good for? Can they be used for gaming hardware in any way? I don't know enough about them.

If iam correct those are for camera's (maybe for phones etc and security cams?)
