PS3 60 GB launch model with a 750 GB upgraded storage coupled with a full HD Samsung, 46 inch, Plasma tv.

I was gaming casually on NES, Genesis, 3DO, PS1 and PS2 when i was a child/teen during the 90s and early 2000s.. but when i bought an 80GB PS3 back in 2009 i became deeply committed to gaming in collage and created so many memorable moments during that golden era.

Honestly in gaming history, a PS3 is pretty hard to beat. Namely with enough storage and full backwards compatibility like you mentioned.

You get three generations of physical games, and a large amount of games worth playing. And you get all the multimedia features for files and physical media.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 159 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million, then 161 million)

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

The Switch is my favorite console. Just beat the NES not too long ago. It just have so many games that I love and Im still finding hidden gems and will keep discovering new ones for a long time to come. It just has everything I find important and interesting in a console library.

Very good, sadly you got the GOAT game out of it tho.

The SNES.

It's library is godly; Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 5/6, Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, F-Zero, Starfox, Super Metroid, Earthbound, Contra III, Kirby Super Star, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Doom, Mario Kart, the list goes on and on.

Its beautiful pixel art holds up amazingly well today, its sound capabilities were ahead of its time to the point where it still sounds great, it's controller is basically perfect for the kind of games it has, and its so reliable mine still works 32 years later.

Greatest console ever made bar none.

The Switch 2, because of the vast library of games it has through backward compatibility, remakes, and remasters, plus it's getting more of the current and recent generaiton games that the Switch 1 couldn't handle. And it's portable.

Plus, my most-played online games are Mario Kart World and Virtua Fighter 5 REVO, which are both on S2.

EDIT: Even most of the PlayStation/PS2 games that I actually still care about are on S2. All they really need to make me happy at this point is Dragon Quest VIII.

Legend of Dragoon is not the greatest game of all time. Maybe in BraLoD land it is, but on planet earth where there is a super nintendo and super metroid, it is not.

Total Championships: Nintendo - 4, Sony - 2, Atari - 1, Microsoft - 0, Sega - 0

Always someone who has to be childish and turn something into a console war.

I have fireworks coming out of my head, maybe BraLoD land deserves more merit on planet earth.

Tell me about it, its so annoying. Its especially annoying when they hold their favorite game in their pfp and say its the best ever, implying that its better than super metroid when it clearly isnt.

Do we count backwards compatibility? I mean, no point choosing PS1 if you can play the games on PS2 etc.
And do you have to choose just EU/NA/Japan or do we ignore region lock?

If I can ignore regions and have all add-ons, I might go with a MD/Genesis with MS converter, Mega/Sega CD and X32.
That would cover my major favorite games: Wing commander and Monkey Island on Mega CD and Phantasy Star main series. Master System is my biggest personal nostalgia, there's ton of quirky Japanese staff on Mega CD and there'd be Shining Force series, Populous, Dune 2, Lunar 1&2... I'm ready to give up whole modern gaming experience for that.
