Or the german one, Stromberg. Got so huge they filmed the first movie partly in the SPD headquarters, our now-president then minister of foreign affairs played a role and everyone compares chancellor Merz to Stromberg.

I guess you can't include remaksters like Xenoblade Definitive Edition into the mix right ?

Hmmm, oh yeah, the Super Mario RPG remake !

I highly desagree with you. There are few movies that can irritate me on the same level of the remake of It. In fact, I find It - Part 1 so bad that I completely ignored the Part 2 for years. I just watched Part 2 last year, mainly because I read It again, and decided to give a second chance to It - Part 1. It continues to be an awful movie adaptation in my opinion, but Part 2 manages to be worse ten, twenty times more. The 1990 miniseries is way more charming, grounded in what kids would actually do in those situation and in line with the source material.

I enjoy the reboot of Battlestar Galactica far more than the original

Oh ... Hum sorry 😅

As for a movie remake better than the original ... I honestly got no answer to that because a lot of referential movies(or their original) are versions I haven't watched in most cases

The Departed although the original Infernal Affairs is a great movie too.

As someone who grew up with original, I was surprised with re-imaging and actually quite enjoyed it...when it aired. Last year I rewatched it, and didn't enjoy it nearly as much.

Original is fun campy romp, so I'm hoping that this next remake (if they're still making it) will be more like that.

Really?  To each their own.  I can do the acting in the original and it comes off as silly versus scary.  I thought the remake fit the book way better.
