This shit is like if Salmon Run, new Doom, and Vampire Survivors had a baby.

Trying to go slow and only do a few new levels per session so I make the experience last but holy moly it's hard to resist that "one more run"!

The different tanks also really change up the way you play, which helps repeat raids feel less repetitive.

The relic missions having a different relic reward per tank is a good incentive to change tanks. I think I would have stayed with my beloved Speed Tank all the way without those missions and it turns out all three tanks have fun gadgets and vary the gameplay a lot.

Signature goes here!

I’ll pick it up eventually, but man, I would’ve preferred a 2.5D side-scroller instead. Feels like this concept would’ve been a way better fit as the single-player mode for Splatoon 4

Huh. That’s a new one: a 2.5D Splatoon side-scroller. Honestly I’d be very interested to see how Nintendo could pull that off, for a franchise which literally responds to a genre that cannot exist in 2D (besides  a game along the lines of Duck Hunt).

(All that comes to mind is Hey Pikmin… oof!)

Pro tip for those getting started; focus on increasing damage output and ink capacity first as these are the main limiting factors in how effectively you can clear the hordes and complete raids within the time limit.

Also don't forget about your bot buddy; in the heat of the action I often found myself getting so hyper-focused on shooting and staying out of harm's way that I forgot about using the buddy jump and specials. The latter in particular are a very effective Hail Mary that can save your arse in a pinch.

Got it, only played for an hour or so, but so far it’s fun. (And make me wish for that Meteoid Prime 4 at least would have had the option for the same motion control scheme as splatoon has)

Okay the lava island boss is freaking awesome! I won't spoil it here, but such a great fight.

The sampler dungeons are also really cool, eschewing the over the top chaotic action of the main levels for tight, focused obstacle courses more akin to prior Splatoon campaigns. Both kinds of level are fun mind you, but its nice to have a change of pace to keep things fresh.

Enjoying the game a lot so far. Really fun gameplay loop.

Also: why is the internet so weird regarding Shiver :S
