Pro tip for those getting started; focus on increasing damage output and ink capacity first as these are the main limiting factors in how effectively you can clear the hordes and complete raids within the time limit.
Also don't forget about your bot buddy; in the heat of the action I often found myself getting so hyper-focused on shooting and staying out of harm's way that I forgot about using the buddy jump and specials. The latter in particular are a very effective Hail Mary that can save your arse in a pinch.
