Great thread idea!

I am torn between Mario Bros Wonder and DK Bananza. Both are endlessly creative, meticulously crafted, and feel amazing to play.

I can't vote.

Astro Bot - Never played it, but it looks really good. Wish I could try it.

Donkey Kong Bananza - Never played it, neither do I care about it.

Kirby and the Forgotten Lands - Never played it. Looks Ok, but not for me.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Great game, but I stopped after world 3 because it was getting way too repetitive. Need to go back someday.

Super Mario 3D World: Bowser's Fury - 3D World is one of my favorite Mario games, but I haven't tried Bowser's Fury.

Psychonauts 2 - Never played it.

Pizza Tower - Don't care about it.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - I dare to say that it's as great as Going Commando, my favorite in the series.

Sonic X Shadow Generations - Haven't played the Shadow portion, but Generations was great.

I’m not a massive fan of platformers but Astro Bot had me coming back for every new level. It’s an incredible example of what you get when you leave studios alone and not ram live service down their throats.

Oof! You’re missing out— we’re in the golden age of platformers right now. Have you at least given Sonic Superstars or Frontiers a shot? Penny’s Big Breakaway? I recently bought Superstars on a sale, though it’s sitting in my backlog until I’m in the mood for it.

Honourable mention to Ori and the Will of the Wisps, gorgeous game with razor sharp controls, brilliant level design, and a stellar soundtrack

Sonic X Shadow Generations is unironically one of my favorite games of all time, but to be fair, only half of it came out this decade (the better half? perhaps)

Also shout out to Crash Bandicoot 4: It's about Time, fantastic creative platformer with smooth controls. They did make it way too hard though. Any%-ing the game is very hard, but doable, and a fun challenge. I cannot imagine 100%-ing it, Jesus Christ, it even puts a lot of NES games to shame with it's brutal difficulty.

I am so hyped to play Astro Bot, I did play Astro's Playroom, which was really nice, but obviously very short, want more.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart did absolutely nothing for me.

Oh, right, I played Sonic Superstars. It'a quite a beautiful game, I forgot about that.

Moderator: Is there any way to see repeat votes? Or non-user votes? There was a sudden shift in the results— Astro went from 6 to 11 over the past two hours, whereas no other game shifted besides +1 for DK and +1 for Shadow Gen.

you “lol” meanwhile I’m easily the biggest Astro fan on this entire forum. No doubt about that! That game is freaking incredible! (Though maaaybe not as incredible as Mario Wonder… at least not to me.)

If we’re talking Astro Rescue Mission, yeah, that may take the cake. But Astro Bot? That goes to Wonder.
