Good. All businesses should do this. Various retail jobs I have worked have had issues with industry secrets getting out.

Like the Pro?  Or Wind Waker?  Or Twilight Princess?  Or Metroid Trilogy HD?  Or FE4 Remake?

Idk, Nintendo has done a lot of remakes over the years, Switch alone had Link’s Awakening, Paper Mario: TTYD, Mario RPG, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

Now you can definitely make the case that a modern day remake along the lines of RE2 is way more ambitious than any previous Nintendo remake but I think it makes sense.

Skyward Sword/BotW/TotK each had 5-6 years of development so I’m guessing we won’t see a new title until holiday 2028 at the earliest and 2029/2030 being just as likely and I can’t imagine Nintendo wants to go that long into the systems life before getting a big Zelda title (BotW/TotK ports won’t cut it).

Fully agreed, I think.  I could easily see a remaster with updated graphics.  The remake part is where my skepticism rests.  I think thousand door and RE2 are very different projects.

Agreed. I def don't consider it to be real until something official is announced. Wouldn't at all be surprised if it doesn't exist and is just a fanboy dream, and Zelda rumors in recent years have been wrong like the much waited for WW and TP ports on Switch that never came.

OTOH with 2D Zelda having come out not that long ago, and the next 3D Zelda obviously still several years away, I could see an OoT remake filling in the Zelda-less first few years for Switch 2, but while business-wise that would make sense Nintendo isn't exactly known for that haha.

I went and saw the new Mario movie this weekend (my interest level helped significantly by wanting to see Fox). I was amazed by how big of a role Fox had in it; I thought it would be a short cameo or Easter egg that wouldn't last past a minute like

@Soundwave mentioned Donkey Kong being in the first movie with his own game following later, and for the most part I agree. But I could also be Devil's Advocate and say that DK already had a huge role in the Mario universe, so no one batted an eye. That's like Harry Osborne being in a Spider-Man movie. 

With Star Fox, that was way more deliberate. That was akin to Nick Fury appearing in Marvel movies to set up the Avengers or Black Panther appearing in one of them to introduce audiences to him and hype his own movie later. It feels like it would be a waste to not doing something with the Star Fox IP now, unless his role was to plant the seeds for an SSB-style movie down the line of a shared Nintendo universe.

It would be nice, but like I said before, Nintendo just isn't that generous. Last time they gave us a new Star Fox it had the worst control scheme in the franchise and killed the franchise.

Just like Federation Force killed Metroid, right? And Shadow Dragon killed Fire Emblem.
