I think you are missing the point. - It doesn't matter how accurate a few predictions are.
It's not even about luck. It's about being educated about the subject matter. Aka. Subject matter expert.
Again... A broken clock is right twice a day.

The fact that he has predicted things incorrectly in the past means that he doesn't have a reliable track record.

I'd say Nate's success rate with video presentation dates goes beyond a broken clock being right twice a day, that might be the case if he got one or two right, but I don't think guesswork alone can plausibly account for him being right about the majority of Direct dates for years, nobody's that good.

Fakers who rely on guesswork and pretend to be leakers like say Nash Weedle have like a 10% success rate, whereas Nate's more like 80-90% for video presentation dates. Whether he knows about games is another matter.

At any rate, we'll just have to wait and see if the next few months show him to be right.

Again. The success rate is not relevant.
If they were wrong once, they can be wrong again. And he HAS been wrong in the past, multiple times.

We are not in a position to determine if a specific leak is fact or fiction until it comes to pass... Ergo, we should ignore said leaks until it comes from an official source.

Thus I take the same approach with religion/God... The claim (leak in this instance) can be dumped into the garbage bin until evidence says otherwise... The word of one person isn't justification for unbridled, unwavering faith in their statements.

The amount of energy that people in this forum invest into unfettered baseless  rumours that have been false has been catastrophically large over the decades... If only I got a dollar for every false rumor that people propagated...
I.E. AMD Radeon with the Nintendo NX or the PS5 with 128GB of Ram.

I find this news plausible based on Nate's track record, which to me suggests he knows more than most, that's all. There's no unwavering faith involved.

If people want to discuss it, why not, a little harmless hypothesizing never hurt anybody.

We'll know soon enough either way.

Who cares what a "leaker' says?

Nate the hate has gotten many things wrong in the past.
For example when he said that Metroid Prime Trilogy HD was releasing in 2021.

Nate like Red Gaming Tech and Moores Law is Dead are "Speculators" they speculate on already established rumors... And thus have a history of incorrect speculations.

It will be an amazing day when people wake up to this garbage.

I'll chime in and add my view on it: you are wrong.

Not in the sense that Nate can't be wrong, but in assuming he is an expert to get predictions right. He 100% knows people leaking very specific things to him.

He will call in advance the day of the announcement of a Nintendo direct and when it'll happens more than a week before than anyone else and get it right 100% of the time. He definitely has internal contacts.

It doesn't mean all his contacts are as reliable as the best ones, but plans also change inside corporations and failed leaks can be real even when they don't happen.

His track record is so good for so much time now that he is one of the very must trustwhorty leakers this days, I would only put the most reliable journalist, Jason from Bloomberg, above him in the scale of confiability. When Jason say something it's 100% of the time going to happen, even if it doesn't sound like it, it'll happen. Nate is the closest to it we have for leakers.

I personally always believe him, not saying you should, but there as the reply started, the guy is definitely in contact with very reliable sources, on that nobody should have any doubt.

Was Nate the one who promised a Switch Pro, WWHD switch port and TPHD?

edit

Yeah, I looked it up.  This never wrong guy was wrong about the Switch Pro, Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.

At this point the Switch 1 Pro was much more likely to have been real and got cancelled than it never ever having existed, tho.

Maybe, more than likely.  Still never launched despite it being announced for sure.

Look, he has a good track record, I won't argue that.  But I am with Perma to some degree.  Who knows until things are confirmed.  Ocarina Remake sounds awesome, but isn't typical Nintendo, so I am on the fence, meaning I am not convinced it will happen.

On the note of Nate’s reliability: I still recall back in September 2020, he was the lone wolf standing on the hill that a Mario 3D All Stars collection would be revealed a Direct presentation in the very near future. He stood by his word even when the odds looked against him (he predicted a Direct during the first week of September that year, and a Direct did happen, but no Mario. But Mario 3D All Stars was to be coming in another Direct shortly thereafter? Doubtful.)— Nintendo had never done such a shadow drop up until that point, so when it did happen to be that a Direct did popped up with SM3DAS, I mean… it’s hard not to view Nate as holding some form of strong insider connections.

That said: Nate doesn’t get it right 100% of the time. Where’s WW/TPHD? Planet Robobot HD? Metroid Prime Trilogy HD? Looking past the occasional miscalls, however, for him to come out with so many bold claims, it would be very unusual if at least one didn’t come into fruition. Especially when he’s providing a date for release— often his claims which don’t pan out are the one’s without a release window stated. To say Star Fox & Switch Sports are coming in the very near future (Summer) sounds to me like we can be very confident that something is coming. Plans have been made, sources have come to Nate, and it is a little late for the plans to be changed most likely.

For people saying OoT isn’t big enough to be a major system seller, I think that depends on how ambitious of a remake it is.

If it’s simply an HD remaster with some minor changes, then yeah it’s a solid support title but if it’s a full blown modern remake with the BotW/TotK engine (think something like RE2 Remake) then it absolutely is a major deal.

The last few mainline 3D Zelda had 5-6 year dev times and with TotK coming out in 2023, it doesn’t seem like we will see a new title for a few more years.

Twilight Princess-Nov 2006
Skyward Sword-Nov 2011
Breath of the Wild-Mar 2017
Tears of the Kingdom-May 2023
Next mainline title-2029/2030?

An ambitious remake to one of the highest acclaimed games of all time seems like a good way to hold over fans while they figure out where to take the series going forward.

An amazing Ocarina remake could be a major system seller, given its immense cultural status among the Millennial generation.

And a fun way to introduce a classic to younger players so they have something to cleanse their palettes of Call of Duty and AI generated trash.

I think this is a controlled leak (wearing Alu hat).

Think about it. There was some negativity about the Switch2.

Slowed production numbers
Where is that mainline Direct?
Where are Mario and Zelda?

Perhaps the new US boss leaked it to Nate to stir things up a bit.
