Forums - Music - My favorite song for the past few years was written and sung by an AI

I've seen the video and listened to the music before I've figured it out that it's made with AI. I still think it's an awesome composition and with a few exceptions, the images are plausible as well. I didn't realize that AI had already advanced this far, especially the vocals.

After all it's still a human who gave instructions, fixed some errors and cut everything together.

No offense intended, but if that is your favorite song, perhaps you should look for a little more depth and meaning in your music. AI will get really good at making by-the-numbers stuff, but it won't ever be able to touch the truly meaningful music that was written by an artist to express his/her own soul. In that arena, AI can't compete.

Sounds like regurgitated pop mush...

Sounds like most music these days. Overly produced love songs by singers that sounds like theyre 14 years old.

This is absolutely terrible. Everything about it is awful. If this is your favourite song in the past few years, you should start listening to better music.

Do you like game music? There is great stuff related to games to listen to, to keep it in the spirit of this site.

Soulless, meaningless garbage that steals from real artists

As someone who genuinely considered applying for a job opening related to AI music... yikes, dude.

I didn't like that. Music subjective, so that's cool if you enjoy it.

Thank you all for your thoughts! I understand that some of you could probably think that I don't have a broad taste in music, but my point was actually something different.

If you read the comments under this video on YouTube, then you can see that I'm not the only one who got goosebumps and tears in the eyes from this song. This probably happens if music resonates with you, which could have something to do with your personal experiences in life.

If we are at point, where artificial intelligence is able to plausible express and cause human feelings, art like music is in serious trouble. AI can be a colleague or competitor. I'm a musician by myself and I think it's alarming if more than 100.000 songs are uploaded daily on Deezer and 30.000 of those are generated with AI.

I thought that you can expose AI music pretty easily. Often there are digital artifacts or distortion in the voice, reverb which cuts off abruptly and a pretty weird or random song structure, combined with a low quality production. I think we're already at a point where these last mistakes are disappearing and probably in a very short time you can't tell the difference anymore if a song is made by humans or AI.
